Say about £7mil?

My first purchase of luxury, that I would be able to do immediately, would be some gorgeous Chanel sunglasses. .

Then a parajumpers coat.

Then new teeth.

Then the farm house etc.

It's my favourite maladaptive daydream.

A house

ssd · 22/12/2024 19:53

Private health insurance. I have health anxiety and panic over everything.

HeadacheEarthquake · 22/12/2024 19:54

My husband a nice car... to see him smile and get excited.

Yeah yeah pass the bucket

Sleepingroundtheclock · 22/12/2024 19:54

Heating.
Good quality fresh meat and veg (not just the cheapest).
Would depend on what time of year it was to which was first.

Jumperp · 22/12/2024 19:54

A new car! Then a house, as it would probably take a while to find one suitable. Then hire a nanny for the days I need to work, rather than sending baby to a childminder

Oreosareawful · 22/12/2024 19:55

A holiday, we’ve not been abroad for 12 years. I’m desperate to get on a plane!

OrsolaRosso · 22/12/2024 19:56

I would get a cleaner.

NautilusLionfish · 22/12/2024 19:57

7mil would totally stress me out.

Day one:- call the bank and pay off our mortgage just to have one bit of life admin sorted. Pay off the remainder of the bank loan for the car. Total 80k.

Day two:- scrap the bin on wheels second car and replace with a nice safe family car 30k. Book Disney World for next year. 10k.

Day three:- find a financial advisor and write cheques to family's banks paying off the remainder of their mortgages.

Rest of the week - stress about the fact we are sitting on a fortune and probably throw up daily.

Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 22/12/2024 19:58

I can't think of anything I want.
I'd pay off my debts. That's be great.
Oh. Maybe get one of those rise and recline posh chairs. I could sit with my feet up and do my knitting.

FuckKnowsMate · 22/12/2024 19:59

Knee and shoulder replacements for my dad

WhatTheFudges · 22/12/2024 19:59

3 houses, one for us and then one each for my kids. Private health insurance for us all and also a private chef to teach me how to cook and create healthy meals. One holiday and a wardrobe full of clothes each, not designer, just high street then the rest in investments and then live off the interest until retirement so I don’t have to work again……not that I’ve given this any thought or anything 😂

Headingtowardsdivorce · 22/12/2024 19:59

I'd buy my kids a house each.

A house, and a flat for my brother. Then I will donate a load to the rescue my dog came from... and get advice on investing the rest.

overthinkersanonnymus · 22/12/2024 20:02

I'd also buy a ridiculously expensive candle, like a giant baobab, and actually light it!

House for me and house for DD. Then I'd get a cleaner and a gardener.

RabbitsRock · 22/12/2024 20:04

Pay off all loans etc

CocoapuffPuff · 22/12/2024 20:05

Mortgage - pay off and relax.
Holiday of some kind.
Sort out new windows and doors, possibly a new roof (victorian house, needing tlc).
Solid fuel stove in living room.
Entire house redecorated, refloored and new, handmade curtains at all windows.
New car for me, New van for DH.

Redflagsabounded · 22/12/2024 20:05

Sensible but take a while - house for me, house for adult child, new teeth, investments.

Immediate frivolous stuff

  • new car with heated front screen, comfy drivers seat, and hybrid to replace my very very basic 10 year old car.
  • weekend in a posh spa with delicious food and every treatment going for me and sibling
  • gardener every couple of weeks and cleaner twice a week to do all the work at home while I'm looking for my dream house

New clothes that aren't from a supermarket

hexsnidgett · 22/12/2024 20:06

A car that doesn't freeze on the inside.

F1rugby23 · 22/12/2024 20:08

A holiday to decide how to spend the money, but first a quick shop to buy my family and me a new holiday wardrobe!

TENSsion · 22/12/2024 20:08

A house with a huge garden with trees where I’d have an elaborate treehouse built for the kids and an allotment for my husband.
