What's the first thing you'd buy if you won the lottery?

Say about £7mil?

My first purchase of luxury, that I would be able to do immediately, would be some gorgeous Chanel sunglasses. .

Then a parajumpers coat.

Then new teeth.

Then the farm house etc.

It's my favourite maladaptive daydream.

I'm in Australia and it's incredibly hot right now so I'd have the air conditioning on 24/7 and not give a second thought to the power bill.

I think I would immediately, the same day we found out (subject to packing) move to a smart hotel near our home (Lake District) and just remove ourselves from our current life to think. I would want some 'cut off point' between our old and new life and hoovering/cleaning/cooking as normal is not it. We are retired, no pets so could do this. Then, gifts to dc and lots of travelling.

New teeth? What's that, if not a teeth cleaning?

That 18th century house I just saw on Modern House it's around the 3.5 million mark so I would still have money to furnish it. It's in Soho my dream location.

Quite sad really that so many of us these days just want a decent home in an area we like to call 'our own' and serious dental work -

katscamel · 23/12/2024 09:43

A really good haircut and colour, a decent nail treatment as I have psoriasis under my nails and so they are very weak and look crap,.a facial and massage and a ring or 2 I rather like in the independent jewellers near me oh and a new fitbit as mine died yesterday

That's day 1.

Day 2: Sort out private healthcare for parents, buy best friend a holiday to see polar bears Then the usual sensible things.
