Say about £7mil?

My first purchase of luxury, that I would be able to do immediately, would be some gorgeous Chanel sunglasses. .

Then a parajumpers coat.

Then new teeth.

Then the farm house etc.

It's my favourite maladaptive daydream.

A really nice camper van!

I like where I live, but would love a bungalow with a bit more space, so would start looking for the perfect one, or a plot of land and design and build my own.

I have a very small family and close friendship group, so would make sure they were all mortgage/debt free.

Weight loss injections. Can't currently afford these but would really benefit.

A Harley Davidson.

A holiday home overlooking the ocean.

SugarPlumpFairyCakes · 23/12/2024 00:00

@SanaJardin you'd gift your rentals to your tenants? Amazing generosity.

Deargodletitgo · 23/12/2024 00:07

Bitcoin

BlueSky2023 · 23/12/2024 00:07

Take a year long sabbatical from work, maybe go part time after that, see how bored I get

Give some money to parents,

Go on 6-12month around the world trip and contemplate what to do with the rest of my life

Give my siblings some money

Nothing major that I would want to buy but I would sell the house and buy a warmer house in a nicer area of the city and buy an apartment abroad in some warm costal location, it would be big enough that a lot of family could say there at once or whenever they wanted….. I have no kids and am not married

I would also spend some money on facial aesthetic treatments, but nothing too drastic.

OnlyTheBravest · 23/12/2024 00:12

New car for each member of the family. No more taxi service for me.
Pay off mortgage/start looking for my dream home or purchase some land and build it and kit it out,
Buy homes for DC/clear mortgages for close family,
Hand some over to close friends so they can clear debts/mortgages/help their DC with deposits,
Hire a cleaner, gardener and a chauffeur,
Invest some to cover household bills in the future, so partner and I can retire or cut back hours to what we want to work
Donate some to my favourite charities,
if there is any left after that, pay myself a salary of £4000 a month and enjoy life!

Maverick66 · 23/12/2024 00:22

Houses for my children.
Pay for my son's wedding .
Whatever car my husband desired
Huge feck off diamond ring for me 😉

XmasSocks · 23/12/2024 00:27

First and foremost - Sort a will

Then Pay off bills

A nice holiday (Europe tour)

New house with two studios / two good spaces attached

A new Car

Give money to some family and afew friends

coastergirl · 23/12/2024 00:35

First? All the Lego!

Then I'd take a bit more time over planning incredible holidays (mostly involving theme parks), houses for me and my kids, my parents and brother, and best friend. Cars etc of course.

Give sizeable donations to charities that mean a lot to me.

Deadringer · 23/12/2024 00:44

I would buy my late mums house and get it done up for my adult dc to live in, then I would book a fabulous holiday, probably some sort of trip around the world.

MadamePeriwinkle · 23/12/2024 00:49

A cottage in Yorkshire

iwishihadaname · 23/12/2024 00:51

7 million in a basic savings account paying 4.00 would give you over 23k before tax. A MONTH. Just in interest. I don't know how you'd even begin to spend that kind of money each month. The fact that you'd still have all that capital left blows my mind.

I'd have a good go

IKnowAPlace · 23/12/2024 01:00

I'd quit my job and move to a better home. Invest most of the money aside from some to set up my own business within six months.

I'd buy my brother a house and my dad a fancy car (I don't get it but it's important to him). I'd probably have a decent holiday, too!

Oh and better teeth, proper focus on weight loss/health.

Zoomo · 23/12/2024 01:05

Lots of posters wanting new teeth. I'm wondering if this Is for cosmetic reasons or due to a general decline in UK dental health.

Pieceofpurplesky · 23/12/2024 01:06

A house back in my beautiful home village that I can't afford to live in. Pay DS's student loans off.

EconomyClassRockstar · 23/12/2024 01:11

I would put in my dream bathroom that DH keeps arguing is too expensive because I want chromotherapy and customized mood sounds. Then pay off the last of the mortgage and just retire early. Give the kids enough money to buy a starter home mortgage free and then just enjoy it.

dontcryformeargentina · 23/12/2024 01:24

1)Buy better house in a secure location
2) invest into different physical assets outside of Western hemisphere
3) Buy Hdar ( Hedera)

ForGreyKoala · 23/12/2024 01:39

A home of my own. I don't care much about anything else.

abracadabra1980 · 23/12/2024 01:59

A perfect little motorhome for me and my dogs to travel, we'd go round looking for land and a smallholding so I could start my animal rescue.
I'd make sure my children were financially comfortable, and I'd use the rest to employ physical help for the rescue and to help me as I have a few health problems, back, etc... so can't do as much as I used to, or lift much weight.
I'd give the two people who work for me a substantial sum, to thank them for their loyalty and to help them move on in life, and I'd invest the rest. Friends and sister would also benefit, but I'm not sure how bashing this out right now...

WinterCrow · 23/12/2024 02:01

I'd love to have a private doctor and dentist available as needed, for the family.

mondaytosunday · 23/12/2024 02:29

I'd buy a small house in Chelsea, which will be about £3-4m. I'd give £400k to one sister and £600k to the other (she has a disabled child). I'd invest £500k for my old age and then split the £1.5-2m remaining in savings for my kids (they'll inherit my house after all).

SprinkleOfSunak · 23/12/2024 02:41

It depends how much I won of course, but I’m going with £10 million.

First purchase: Pay off the remaining £350,000 on mortgage.

After the above I would then buy:
A Chanel handbag, purse and sunglasses.
Spend around £150,000-200,000 on our current house to improve and extend it, then let it out.
A house in our current area for around £1.5 million.
2x houses for each of my children (would let them out for now).
A house for around £3.5 - 4 million in Mayfair (would stay at weekends and in holidays, and air bnb it the rest of the time).
A housekeeper/cleaner.
Holiday of my dreams to Japan.
A house in my favourite area of France for around £1million.
Several flats and houses local to me and I’d property develop them.

MermaidMummy06 · 23/12/2024 02:42

New cars
move to nicer area
Cleaner
Gardener
More holidays with nicer accommodation & transport options.
Invest so we could retire / nicer lifestyle
A million each into trust for DC's, to ensure their future, no matter what happens to me.

If I could I'd keep quiet & do things slowly as too many people want a slice & I can't cope with saying no to some as I feel to bad about it!

You can't get an nhs dentist and private dental costs are bonkers. £720 for one crown.

Nat6999 · 23/12/2024 04:09

A bungalow
Somewhere to private rent until the house sale went through.
