Who would you like to see replace Greg(G)

Just that really. As it seems rather obvious he won’t be darkening the doors of MasterChef again - who would you like to see replace him (or maybe replace both him and John).

'Eating with Todd' or agree Chris Bavin would be a logical successor

CheeseandMarmiteToastie · 02/12/2024 20:29

Strictly seems to have got past the scandals so maybe Masterchef will too 🤷🏻‍♀️ I love Si King but he seems too nice and down to earth for this.

SoYouThinkYouCanPrance · 02/12/2024 20:29

I agree with those saying it’s had its day. Feels like it’s been milked to death with all the different versions over the years. Just the title makes me do an internal sigh these days.

One of the suggestions I've seen is Si King.

I actually think that's a pretty decent call.

That's a great idea

the80sweregreat · 02/12/2024 20:30

I do like Strictly , but I agree it's had its day after 20 years. I gave up on Master chef years ago , but most of the cooking shows are now stale and boring
Tv in general needs a shake up.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 02/12/2024 20:30

Or bring back Lloyd Grossman Grin

Twothinkthat · 02/12/2024 20:32

I do still enjoy it - particularly the Professionals, so would be sad if it was taken off air.

Really good idea. He’s what Gregg is “supposed” to be isn’t he? A genuinely down to earth man who’s not a “chef” but loves food.

I would love to see him in another show, but I just can't picture him partnered up with anyone else (and don't really want to)

I'd put him in a show of his own, with ever changing guest cooks

Qouppers · 02/12/2024 20:34

My ultimate dream combo is Raymond blanc and si King

A middle aged woman of a certain age.

It would nicely infuriate him.

Edited

Most definitely

DoubleShotEspresso · 02/12/2024 20:35

Maybe Angela Hartnett and Monica Gallletti?

I would also love to see Jay Rayner and Michel Roux

Fabulouslyunfabulous · 02/12/2024 20:36

Sarah Pascoe. I love everything that she does.

FaceLikeACrackedScreen · 02/12/2024 20:38

I’d never watch it again if Grace Dent presented it.

Si King comes across as a lovely bloke. The lovely person who does the wine on Saturday Kitchen, or, someone who knows nothing about food but is a decent presenter.

I find Sally Nugent a pleasure to watch, warm, kind, sense of humour.

I think I’d prefer someone like Sally, someone who is a presenter first and foremost. Fiona Bruce made the shift didn’t she? Entirely possible.

Hoppinggreen · 02/12/2024 20:42

I like Grace Dent but I believe she has or has had an ED so she may not be the best option.
Si king would be good, get a Northerner in there!

I agree. I loved the first few series but it’s time to retire it and make something new.

It's not going to be retired - BBC are spending £millions on a new state of the art TV and film studio in Birmingham and have confirmed it will be setting for Masterchef. Too much at stake to drop it now.

ClicketyClickPlusOne · 02/12/2024 20:54

Ruby Tandoh?

They could embrace the unexpected opportunity and use it for a new show

Joewickscarpet · 02/12/2024 20:59

Fern Britton? Middle class woman of a certain age who spent years presenting a food show.

Declutterthoseemails · 02/12/2024 21:00

Jay Rayner

Oh this is it or Jay Rayner and Si King

EveryOtherNameTaken · 02/12/2024 21:02

Angela Hartnett would be bang on.

Jay Rayner's a good shout too.

Me too.

Plus I come over all peculiar when I see him. [Middle class woman of a certain age, I am].

And he seems like a nice guy.
