There's only one floating pile of garbage in this story and it lives in Mar a Lago.

To Kamala Harris and all the other Democratic candidates on the ballot - May your courage, determination and hard work bring you the success you deserve. ❤️
To Donald (Jessica) Trump - May you get everything you deserve... and then some.

Checking in and thanks for the new thread AND the title. Those of us (who retain our sanity) in the US appreciate the hand holds. And will appreciate the celebrations if when we win.

"When we fight, we WIN"

Now returning to the usual programming (on the other thread).

Thank you.
If I’d known eight years ago that the orange horror would still be at it in 2024 I’d have…I don’t know. Something or other.

I agree. I only joined Twitter the day he put his name forward as a presidential candidate because I was shocked and horrified and wanted to keep on top of it all. (Twitter was better back then...)
Then he won. But I thought he would only ever be a one term president and he would snipe and insult from the sidelines and eventually disappear
And here we are, being put through it again.

Anyone else planning getting up super early Wednesday for some early indications? Was considering staying up all night but actually think I'll get up about 4am (uk) ish to see how it's going!

Igotjelly · 01/11/2024 17:31

I remember it being a wild ride for days last time and being on my last nerve. Actually tempted to ignore it a bit until things are clearer.

My boy wakes up around 430 am so I'll be in fine form to watch, cringe, rage and cry....

tobee · 01/11/2024 17:55

There was nothing very optimistic looking in the results in 2020 til about at the earliest 5 - 5.30 am. I remember ds tapping me and saying "it's looking good for Joe now mum!" and I couldn't believe it.

pointythings · 01/11/2024 19:11

I'm just checking in to share my terror with all of you.

Copperas · 01/11/2024 20:10

From a lurker - many thanks and fingers crossed

Lonelycrab · 01/11/2024 20:15

Following. These elections have always been important but this is on a whole new level.

If trump wins it’ll be carnage.
if trump loses it’ll be carnage.

HunsandRoses · 01/11/2024 20:19

He's going to declare himself the winner whatever happens. We all need to brace for that.

Early voting data is looking promising. I'm willing her into the White House as we all globally need to turn the page on this toxic orange Nazi.

Igotjelly · 01/11/2024 20:23

Registration data for young women in Pennsylvania looks promising too.

TokyoSushi · 01/11/2024 20:24

As I recall we ran these threads minute by minute as most of us were up for about 3 days virtually straight in 2020!

We almost slept in shifts and I remember I made lots of posts like 'ok, I'm going to bed for 1 hour but I'm keeping my phone alerts on loud in case they declare xxxx' - planning for similar this time! Although last time if you remember we were on that weird mini lockdown where schools were open, but not much else, so we could dedicate ourselves almost entirely to this!

lifeturnsonadime · 01/11/2024 20:25

checking in and watching with interest.

Yes there's definitely a 'stop the count' possibility incoming! 😟

TokyoSushi · 01/11/2024 20:25

I think Harris might just make it by a teeny margin, let's see...
