I saw the footage of the 81 year old who was voting for the very first time in her life after her husband died. He had stopped her as he didn't think she knew enough about it.

For the last week I’ve had the election odds permanently on another window on my phone and this last day or so they do seem to be going towards Harris, although Trump still is the favourite currently. A lot tighter now than it was a few days back. Come on Kamala, you can do this!!🤞🤞🤞🤞

What's filling me with hope (and quite a lot of childish glee!) is that Trump is no longer president, he's a private citizen and therefore personally responsible for any actions carried out at his behest. Biden, on the other hand, can do what the fuck he wants - including imprisoning Trump - with total immunity, thanks to the Supreme Court ruling. 😂😂😂

It seems to come from a site called Grabienews, or Grabien. Which looks like a spreader of far right disinformation to me, but I might be misunderstanding its purpose?

Husbands 'dictating' how their wives vote isn't new. Our (former) MAGA friend actually filled out his wife's mail-in ballot 'for her'. She then signed the envelope and he personally took it (along with his) to the drop box. Illegal as hell? Yes, but because he is violent she was afraid to go against him. She's publicly proMAGA because to do anything else would endanger her. But I know her and she is truly a good person, she's just scared. Yes, she should leave him, but she never will. Chances are we all know someone in that situation, all you can do is wait and pray.

We're no longer in touch. DH and he had a huge argument about MAGA a few years ago and no longer speak. As a result she's 'not allowed' to be friends with me. We tried to keep in contact but he blocked me on her phone and has access to her phone and her email.

As far as the election goes, I'm still doing the 'hope for the best, prepare for the worst' thing. What I find concerning is the number of our friends who live in larger cities who are actually making plans to 'not go anywhere for awhile' starting with election night. We're rural so aren't concerned about post-election violence on a personal level, we're just surprised that so many of our friends are. Even those, like us, who live in a safe blue state!

No, he's just a controlling and abusive cunt, the abuse started long before Trump came along but it's certainly ramped up since then. Trump & MAGA just allowed him to feel that his attitudes and behaviour are acceptable and 'right'.

We've always had 'political differences' with him, but up until Trump DH and he just agreed to disagree and not discuss politics. So we weren't truly aware of how xenophobic, racist, and misogynistic he was. Trump's rhetoric ramped him up and 'justified' his nasty beliefs and he began to 'say it out loud' as it were.

I've always strongly disliked him because of the way he treated my friend. As she and I got closer and became BFFs the dislike turned into silent hatred. Since Trump, it's rapidly turned to abhorrence. I started encouraging her to leave him 10 years ago but she has to make that decision for herself. I never would have 'abandoned her' but I realized that my attempting to stay in touch was making things worse for her.
