What's the most popular boys' and girls' name in your kid's class/school currently?

Seems like 90% of kids in primary schools in my area are called Olivia and Harry.

Only duplicates in DC1 class was James.

Nothing in DC2 class but a few that are similar (think Isabella and Bella. Evie and Ava)

A Harry and Harriet in DC3 class.

We're in a North London Borough and our school is quite middle class with a huge European influence. Lots of beautiful names I've never come across before.

Very affluent White British rural area. Oscar, Willow and Ottilie seem to be the trendy names.

I know several Ottilies and several Arias.

SE here. Names I hear on repeat for primary school are Emily, Sophie, Ava, Esme, Eva/Evie for girls - but my DC’s class has no two children with the same name. For boys, Leo seems to be having a moment among babies and toddlers, and the one repeated name we did have was Louie, which is hardly that common anyway!

CalliopePlantain · 21/08/2024 17:40

I have one in year 3 and one in year 1.

the only duplication is Logan but that’s one in each class.

Sunshineclouds11 · 21/08/2024 17:41

Leo & Theo and Amelia & Grace are popular names in my DC school year

MissingMoominMamma · 21/08/2024 17:41

Two Ellas, two Ellies, and two Oscars.

In a class of 20!

Namechange8463 · 21/08/2024 17:46

I think the only duplicate in my two DCs' classes is Oliver (two in eldest's class).

There are common names across the school though; off the top of my head, Summer, Freddie, Molly, Harry, George, Evie, Isaac and (weirdly), Amara, seem quite popular.

Wildywondrous · 21/08/2024 18:01

Daisy, Sophie, Maisie, Alfie, Archie, Freddie, Noah and Max.

rc22 · 21/08/2024 18:04

I teacher Year 1. Last year I had lots of Olivers and Oscars. There were no duplicated names amongst the girls which is unusual these days.

whatthehellnpw · 21/08/2024 18:06

Amelia, harper. Hattie, Evie are the only duplicates I can think of. Aged 5.

Latenightreader · 21/08/2024 18:27

I did an outreach session with a class containing a Laura, Lola, Lyra, Lila and Lahleeta. I think there might have been two of one of them. It was a village primary and the class had 24 children.

When I was a student there were three Paul Cook(e)s in my year group at college, and three Matt Smiths two years below.

papadontpreach2me · 21/08/2024 18:47

Boys lots of Jacks and Adams.

Girls lots of Orlas, Evie's and Lillie's.

Catcatkitten · 21/08/2024 18:48

Sophie x3
Zachary x2

WakingUpInBlood · 21/08/2024 18:51

Not necessarily in one class but in the school there are three Olivias, four Islas and three Amelias. For boys I’m not so sure - a couple of Harrys but can’t think of any other duplicates.

Stickthatupyourdojo · 21/08/2024 19:00

Year 2 year group, multiples of Oliver, Henry, Matilda and Isabelle.

ThisOchreLemur · 21/08/2024 19:04

Girls: Sophie,Sophia/Sofia , Lily, Tilly
Boys:Arlo, Noah,Alfie..

Puppupandaway · 21/08/2024 19:06

3 x Harley but in a year group of 60, everyone else was unique, even more popular names like Harry, Amelia, Ava.

Hugmorecats · 21/08/2024 19:06

Three Isabellas in my son’s class. Two Poppys in my daughter’s class.

icebearforpresident · 21/08/2024 19:11

About half the boys in my kids school are called Jack, Jake or Jay.

No stand out names for girls but my eldest has a top 3 name in Scotland for the last 10 years and she has always been the only 1 in the whole school. We nearly called her something else because we didn’t want her to have a really common name, if we had used the alternative she actually would have had a really common name (in the school anyway).

Coffeeandcrocs · 21/08/2024 19:13

South coast!

Lots of Harry's, Alfies, Albies, Archies, Jack's, Louies, George's

Girls wise lots of Mias, Lily's, Islas, Amelias
