Scents that you bizarrely hate!

I’ll go first..

Newspapers and new books are my nemesis! Books are usually manageable but I have genuinely never been able to bring myself to willingly touch a newspaper, I don’t even like being in the same room as them due to the smell🤣 Wish I was joking..

Anyone else have a strange dislike to a smell that would be inoffensive to most other people?

Sol de janeiro! All versions of it, I honestly can’t understand why it’s so popular.
Lilies.
Bath and body works products, some smell nice out of the bottle or tube but then all I can smell is chemicals once it’s on your skin.
Agree with a previous poster, I also think that some washing detergents and frabic softener smells like wee.

The smell of vanilla. I love cakes like Victoria sponge but vanilla on its own does not smell good. Artificial vanilla smells eg air fresheners are the worst.

Hate hate fabric conditioner, also most washing powders, antibacterial sprays inc hand gels they make me want to vomit.
Cooking oils and my husbands running kit, it stinks. There's probably a few others but they're at the very top of my hate list.

Vanilla is the scent I dislike most that other people may enjoy (or at least features in most garden-variety smellies and candle ranges). I find it cloying.

Grapefruit-Happy hippy by lush is rank (I have nothing against hippies!)
Butcher shops-i can't walk past one as the smell makes me heave

Almond, which is unfortunately in a surprising number of shampoos, even if it's not obvious until you read the ingredients. I like eating them though, apart from the odd one which tastes vile, just like the smell.

Roses, lavender, milk and I think popcorn smells like poo

Synthetic vanilla or coconut products. All washing up liquids. All conditioners, sickly and cloying. Love eating lamb but the smell of it cooking is rank. Not a coffee snob but the smell of instant coffee smells like a greasy engine, bleurgh.

New car smell! Struggle to breathe in a new car with the stink.

Yes, Estée Lauder Youth Dew was the thing of nasal nightmares. I’m not sure if is still in production but I don’t think I’d be brave enough to sample it.

Lillies - smell like piss
Someone got me some but I had to throw them away, it smelt like someone weed in the room.

Seafood of any sort.
They're the worst for me. Especially Coriander, instant headache and feeling sick.

The vast majority of the things listed on this thread I hate. But tomato plants I love!

Bacon cooking. In fact any meat cooking smells, but I'm not veggie. Love a steak, just not the smell!

Apparently that's the smell of the grass distressed it's being tortured!

I love most of these! I do loathe the smell of butchers shops, but that's not controversial I don't think

I can’t smell much at the moment, but when I could, some Boots face cream that smelt like cake.
