Just stop oil morons

I've just seen 2 just stop oil idiots have vandalised stonehenge. Wtf is wrong with these utter morons?! I actually feel really angry and just a day before the solstice. I don't understand what they think this kind of stupidity achieves? Certainly not support for their cause and beliefs. The historian commenting said it best 'Parade your concern for the planet by destroying endangered lichens. Sympathy transmuted into utter loathing.'

Genuinely thought this was going to be about yesterday's headline that 550 people died of heat exhaustion at Mecca, and that Saudi Arabia, one of the biggest oil morons, should just stop

I'm on board for that too

I see they are vandalizing jets today, which you would think at least reflects their politics better however they decided to frame this act as a remark on the financial inequalities between the wealthy and the poor?

Later, a poor JSO spokesman tried to get it all back on topic and engineer the criminal act as a remark on environmental politics.

JSO are useful idiots, shills, given money by people who don’t like the idea that use of oil should be replaced with more climate-friendly solutions, and want to turn the general public against the Green Agenda.
Just take a look at where they are getting their funding from: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-63543307

Just Stop Oil: What is it and what are its goals?

The group wants more action on climate change - but its tactics have faced criticism.

No they aren't? From the link you posted:

According to its website, most of its money comes from the Climate Emergency Fund - a US network which has supported climate activism since 2019.

That is part-funded by US philanthropist Aileen Getty, the granddaughter of petrol tycoon J Paul Getty. Just Stop Oil says it also receives donations from the public and other organisations concerned about climate change.

The most cursory Google search finds an interview with her stating that the reason she's donated $4m to Extinction Rebellion and JSO is that she is trying to work out how best to deal with the Grandfather's legacy.

@ClaudiaWankleman sponsoring people to commit acts that alienate their cause to the general public seems like a perfect reverse UNO though…
I mean, the girl’s a Billionaire, surely that 4 million could have gone into research?

Are you suggesting a conspiracy theory that 'big oil' is funding climate protest as a way of cementing an oil-dependent future?

Just pointing out that it’s a little odd…

By the same logic Sunak must be sponsored by Labour given the multiple acts of self sabotage he has engaged in, in the past few weeks.

The JSO protesters should blockade Moscow, protest against the worst polluting countries, China, Iran, all you JSO protesters get to these places, you are fearless and I'm sure you'll get the reaction we all want.

Yes. I'm a little embarrassed to post this, but 2 years ish ago as a family we converted to green, I had ordered new ev's x2, 1 for family and 1 for work. Unfortunately we were held up on a jso protest for a flight, ultimately missed a family death as a result. I was so incensed that I cancelled both vehicles and ordered 1 x gti petrol and 1 x v6 suv in a small stick fingers up. I feel mad and confused both at my small mindedness and also why the hell did jso do this to me.

Yes. ' working g out how to deal with her grandfather's legacy' by sponsoring acts of destruction around the world and antagonising huge swathes of prople. Yeah right. 4million is pocket money for her. If she really wanted to know how to deal with her grandfather's legacy it woukd be to keep 4 million for herself and give the rest to research into renewable energy, sponsor students through college who want to work in climate science etc. Either she has a malevolent purpose or she is a bored heiress who just likes to watch people cause trouble in her name.
