Anyone else loving the weather?

I'm so enjoying the cooler than normal weather. I can spend more time in the garden without getting hot and sweaty. Love sleeping in a cool bed. Can go for nice long walks. Less noise from neighbours. Win. Win.

I always look forward to the heat! I genuinely love the summer. The hotter the better.
My whole family struggle with anything over 24.
Whilst they are striving for shade I am following the sun.
At the moment I have covid so right now I am grateful for the cool but not cold weather.

MaryFuckingFerguson · 11/06/2024 20:25

I don’t have any expectation of good weather, but enjoy it when we get a week or so of boiling.

My phone reminded me of this time last year photos of our garden, and it looked tropical.

I appreciate the rain as I don’t have to water. I’m sure we’ll get some great weather at some point.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 11/06/2024 20:26

I can do without the cold wind and a bit more sun would be nice, but no wish for heat, thanks.

I'd rather not have the heating switching on in June, too.

NuffSaidSam · 11/06/2024 20:27

I prefer the cooler weather to hot/heatwave weather, but it's a bit cold even for me at the moment. I don't mind wearing a jacket, but I don't want to be in a jacket and jumper and still be cold in June.

darksigns · 11/06/2024 20:28

I’m enjoying it, I’m not a fan of hot weather at all.

Noosnom · 11/06/2024 20:29

No. It's freezing.

Idrop I have covid too. It feels like winter she says dramatically.

Edenmum2 · 11/06/2024 20:29

Yes! So happy to be getting through June without a heatwave. Long may it continue

Killerqueenie · 11/06/2024 20:29

No, I hate it. It's June. We've had a very long cold and wet winter. I'm ready for some warmer weather. It's been so cold here yesterday and today (8 degrees with a colder wind chill in NE Scotland) that I've had to put the fire on. I'm so over it. I'm not asking for it to be roasting hot, but I shouldn't have to put on jumpers and jackets at this time of year.

TheChosenTwo · 11/06/2024 20:30

No, I hate this shitty cold weather. I don’t want to sit in my garden in the rain thanks.

pictoosh · 11/06/2024 20:30

No. It's sad and disappointing.

CarolineFields · 11/06/2024 20:30

I love it! this is my favourite type of summer

SomewhereOverTheHill · 11/06/2024 20:32

I am.
The thing I hate about summer is not being able to sleep under my duvet, but this year no problems. I also hate the noisy neighbourhood late night bbqs in summer - so far there haven’t been any! Massive win 🤣

RainyDayLove · 11/06/2024 20:32

I'm in heaven right now. I'm not sure if 'reverse SAD' is a thing, but even if not, I reckon I've got it! Making every moment of the cool, fresh, rainy, grey weather while I can. I do feel for those who want summer to come though, as I imagine they feel as negatively about this weather as I do about sun and heat!

daisychain01 · 11/06/2024 20:33

The days are slipping by with the long evenings and it feels like a waste.

I need warmth in the air, my dahlia are grumpy and not growing!

MaryMaryVeryContrary · 11/06/2024 20:35

No, it’s shit. Cold wind, autumn clothes, can’t put my washing out because it randomly pisses with rain, it’s awful. People have 9 months of the year to huddle under blankets, why they want to do it for 12 is beyond me tbh

Idroppedthescrewinthetuna · 11/06/2024 20:36

@Noosnom how cold are you right now. I can't stop shivering.
I was considering putting the heating on earlier but my 10 year old has a fever.
Covid sucks. Being cold sucks. When K am better I need some sun in my life Grin

Because I prefer being cosy and snug under a blanket in my toasty jumper than I do sweating under the blazing sun 😂

Radiatorvalves · 11/06/2024 20:37

No. I’m miserable.

JassyRadlett · 11/06/2024 20:37

I'm utterly miserable. You lot get the vast majority of the year and begrudge us even a tiny bit of warmth!

My joints hurt, I'm sick of jackets and being cold and not being able to sit outside in any comfort. I don't even want proper hot weather, just a solid few weeks of highs of 20-25 would make the world of difference instead of this grey, chilly slug-infested misery.

ThingsWillOnlyGetBetter · 11/06/2024 20:39

It’s fucking horrible.

Snuggling (urgh), and being cozy can fuck off till November.

I’M MANIFESTING A BOILING HOT HEATWAVE TO GET MY OWN BACK ON THOSE WHO WANTED THIS BASTARD WEATHER.

BogRollBOGOF · 11/06/2024 20:39

It's shit and gloomy. Winter isn't supposed to last 12 months.

Still waiting for summer 2023.

I've had the central heating on again and I'm fed up of playing "what coat do I need today".

I've known warmer weather in December.

Isn’t that a sad life though, spending most of it on the sofa?

RampantIvy · 11/06/2024 20:40

No. I hate it.

Do you never spend a lot of time outside?

The farmers are struggling. Food prices will rocket - I'm sure you won't mind paying higher prices for your food. Several outdoor events have been cancelled. Loads of sports events have been cancelled.

Our heating is still on. I am using my tumble dryer and dehumidifier because I can't dry my washing outside and am therefore contributing more to climate change by using more resources.

Unusually, there have been many, many threads on MN complaining about the cold and the wet.

You have had your favourite weather for a year with the odd break, so it is time for those of us who prefer warmer weather to have a turn.

So YABVVVU.

Idroppedthescrewinthetuna · 11/06/2024 20:40

@ThingsWillOnlyGetBetter
I will manifest with you!
COME ON HEATWAVE!!

LittleGreenDragons · 11/06/2024 20:42

I don't mind it cooler but for goodness sake I just wish it would be drier!! Only seen my garden 3 days this year 😡
