Anyone else loving the weather?

I'm so enjoying the cooler than normal weather. I can spend more time in the garden without getting hot and sweaty. Love sleeping in a cool bed. Can go for nice long walks. Less noise from neighbours. Win. Win.

South East 🌞

Not in London it isn't. We have had some sun in the mornings, but it clouds over by about 11 - and the last few days we haven't even had the sunny mornings, just clouds with a few peeks of sunshine. And a stiffish breeze, especially yesterday.

Riversideandrelax · 11/06/2024 20:57

I mean yes, we've had lots of rain but last few days have been dry and at least got up to early 20s so nice in the sun. Not as warm as usual at this time of year of course, but I'll take whatever sun I can get!

How cold is it when you put the heating on in winter? If it's barely getting above 10 degrees then yes of course some people are putting the heating on.

Jellycats4life · 11/06/2024 20:59

I’m in the SE and I’m so fucking cold right now my hands are purple.

FionnulaTheCooler · 11/06/2024 20:59

I'm happy with it, I hate heatwaves and was absolutely miserable when it was around 30° a couple of summers ago, I don't know how people down south coped with even hotter. I'm happy that I can keep my hoodie on and not have to faff around putting suncream on. My DD is hoping that her sports day later this week will be cancelled, she detests sports day.

ThingsWillOnlyGetBetter · 11/06/2024 21:01

I’m also really bloody sick of getting drenched in every sodding dog walk.

Oh yes it is.
Tomorrow and Thursday's highs are 13 degrees. Heating weather here.

Snackpocket · 11/06/2024 21:02

Nope it’s shit. I‘m sick of grey, cold and damp days. I need to feel some warmth in my bones.

I'm not in London. We've been using the outdoor pool at our gym last couple of weeks in the sun. Had a nice sunny weekend - kids in shorts. Today it was sunny until late afternoon then clouded over. Obviously would prefer it hotter but at least it's nice in the sun!

Mags1001 · 11/06/2024 21:04

I've had 2 days at the seaside for a relaxing break ALONE 😪, it poured down yesterday, today slightly better but I'm on bed at 9pm, been here sobe 6pm watching vera!
It hasn't got much to do here, won't be back. I picked a sleepy town in the NE

Vicliz24 · 11/06/2024 21:04

Hate it . Absolutely hate it . I want a minimum of 25 degrees from tomorrow until September 30th .

PrescriptionOnlyMedicine · 11/06/2024 21:05

I don’t like really hot weather, but it’s bloody freezing at the minute and constantly wet. It’s a total waste of light evenings when I could be enjoying the garden rather than sitting in the house with my dressing gown on.

Not getting above 10? I'd put a hoodie on too, then!

TinkerTiger · 11/06/2024 21:06

If I have to choose between this or high temps, I'd definitely choose this. But 24 and a cool breeze wouldn't hurt.

12 degrees, cloud and rain. Currently 11 degrees.

Oh no - that's horrible!

newfriend05 · 11/06/2024 21:08

Hating it !! This is suppose to be summer !! Can believe people are relishing such shit weather

Yep, here's the week ahead in my borough... miserable for June. Usually at this time of year we can eat outdoors, not have to wear socks or slippers all the bloody time, actually get a bit of sun and fresh air on arms and legs...

DS is going on a residential this week and I've just had to buy warmer kit. It's relentless.

Anyone else loving the weather?

This is mumsnet. The home of cold, wet, miserable weather lovers. They love to be "cosy" and "snug" under a blanket.

AllOfOurGoodTimes · 11/06/2024 21:10

It hasn’t seemed cold here, it’s a comfortable temperature for me to do things in. I don’t mind it a bit warmer but I don’t like hot weather.

TBH that's how I feel October to April every year.

xerneas · 11/06/2024 21:11

The longer we can go without hot weather the better IMO!!
