Heartbroken for him and his family. News reports saying a few different things at the moment. May he rest in peace x

They said he was found in a cave?

kerstina · 09/06/2024 09:35

Really sad about this outcome. RIP. I am glad his family are altogether and can support each other. Sounds like it was heat stroke/ exhaustion.

MattDamon · 09/06/2024 09:35

Thanks for the new thread.

David Brown from The Times reporting the body is next to a busy beach bar/restaurant, with a fence in between them. He also says the same area was searched yesterday.

westisbest1982 · 09/06/2024 09:35

And just 50 yards from a beach resort with a nightclub.

Lentilweaver · 09/06/2024 09:35

So very tragic and unnecessary. I really feel for his wife and children.

I wasn't familiar with his work until this tragedy, but I gather he has helped many, and will now listen to his podcast. RIP.

As a person who does a lot of solo travel, I should probably learn from this.

Aquarius1234 · 09/06/2024 09:35

I'm sure we will find out more at some point.
Of course non of our business but still. Lots of different reports atm.

Says he was found with umbrella by a fence .

AhBiscuits · 09/06/2024 09:36

How awful, his poor family.
I think everyone knew this would be the outcome deep down.

Toastcrumbsinsofa · 09/06/2024 09:36

Sad news

Aquarius1234 · 09/06/2024 09:37

It must have been a very unpleasant walk in the extreme heat. It's bad enough at 26/ 27c .

BBC saying that he had been dead for a number of days. This is at least a comfort. Thankfully he hadn't been lying injured slowly dying while the rescuers were looking for the right place.

CaptainBlondebeard · 09/06/2024 09:37

This is very sad, I do hope he didn’t suffer. Will be thinking about his family and friends today who must be devastated, and hope that having an answer, even if it’s not the one they wanted, brings some comfort.

EachandEveryone · 09/06/2024 09:38

RIP. So glad his family and friends are all out there for suppport.

supersop60 · 09/06/2024 09:38

So sad.

There's going to be a lot of rubbish posted. Most of it won't be true.

Waitingfordoggo · 09/06/2024 09:39

The reports seem mixed on exactly where MM was found, but the BBC report quotes a source saying that he had been dead for several days. That is incredibly sad but less awful than the thought of him stuck and suffering somewhere in the heat without access to water while the search was in progress. At least this might mean there is no ‘what if the search had been quicker/located in the right place’. Because it sounds like it may not have made a difference.

My heart feels heavy at this news. His work has helped a lot of people, and his wife and children must be completely heartbroken. My thoughts are with them.

Right maybe fell and hit his head badly.

Am absolutely heartbroken. His programmes have helped me and he had given such good advice. Seemed like a lovely, gentle man. Am so sorry for his wife and children. Rest in Peace Michael.

LefkaOri · 09/06/2024 09:40

To gently correct the person who said he was found in a cave, the National broadcaster in Greece, ERT, has images of his body on a rocky outcrop by a fence, ie he was spotted by people at sea but he was on land, on a rocky surface. I am glad he was not found in a cave as in one interview he admitted to a terrible fear of enclosed spaces.
May he rest in peace, and may his family eventually find peace and comfort in the enormous amount of good Dr Mosley did for the health and well being of so many.
