What’s your weight and height?

Ilovemycatalot · 02/06/2024 20:13

I’m 5ft 4 and after years of being overweight I’m finally down to 9 stone 6.
Recent conversation with friend who said I should aim for about 8 and a half stone for my height despite me currently being in the ideal BMI range.
just wondering what others are and if you are happy with your weight.
I realise we all carry weight differently so not a goady threat by any means.
For the record I was 11 stone before the weight loss.

Well done! I'm 5.5 and 10stone 9 at the no. Have lost some, would like to lose more, if I were 8stone I'd look ill!

theoyster · 02/06/2024 20:17

I'm 5'10 and 9 stone 6... after losing a sh*t tonne of weight. I don't want to lose anymore because I know it would make me look unwell.

Go by how your clothes fit and how you feel, don't listen to your friends and the BMI nonsense xx

Dearg · 02/06/2024 20:18

Well done on your weight loss. How do you feel at your current weight?

I am 5’5” . At my thinnest - 49kg. But very prone to minor illness - viruses, coughs etc. Currently 59kg, happiest at 56 kg. But it’s harder as I get older and I do think a bit of padding can carry me through some minor illness.

Trinity69 · 02/06/2024 20:19

5’7” and closer to 12 stone than I’d like. I’ve never weighed this much without being pregnant. Pisses me off but pretty sure I’m peri as well so not sure it’ll be easy to shift. Have a free gym at work though which I’ll be in as much as I can, even if it’s just to walk on the treadmill.

Notellinganyone · 02/06/2024 20:20

I’m 5ft 2 and currently nudging 12 stone and girding my loins to do something about it. A few years ago was down to 9 10 and looked and felt great. It’s a healthy BMI range so I’d indirectly your friend. As a teenager/ early 20s I was between 7 and 8 stone and I’d look ill at that weight now.

WhyamInotvomiting · 02/06/2024 20:21

I'm pregnant now but I'm 5'5 and was around 54kg at my booking appt. I go up and down between 50 and 55kg and have done since I was about 20 (am now early 30s).

Fieldsofgold1 · 02/06/2024 20:21

I'm 5.8 and not saying what my current weight is but my happiest weight was 11st-12st after following a low carb "diet". Probably could have lost a bit more (thanks Greggs downstairs at then new job).

thistimelastweek · 02/06/2024 20:21

I'm 5ft 4 and if I were 8 and a half stone I would be very thin and hungry.

I realise we are all different but my optimum weight is 9st. Anything less involves undereating and hunger.

ArabellaFishwife · 02/06/2024 20:21

Too short and too fat.

At your size, I looked fine. I've been lighter, and that looked fine too, though people who were used to seeing me around the nine and a half stone mark thought a stone and more lighter was too thin. I bet you look great as you are.

Ilovemycatalot · 02/06/2024 20:22

I feel ok at my current weight a bit flabby still and have gone to a dress size 12 from a 14.

4'11" and weigh 6st3lb.

Andtheworldwentwhite · 02/06/2024 20:22

I’m 5.3 and I currently weigh 9 stone 8 pounds. Last August I weighed 13 stone and 1 pound.

I do aim for losing more. But after eight months of not cheating even once over Xmas I needed a break. I also wanted to figure out a way to maintain which I have now done I buy size 10 or size 8 clothes now. I may decide to go to 9 stone. But not sure when I will do that. I am not perfect. But my overall aim was to be able to go into a shop , pick up a size 10 and have it fit. Which I have done.

soupfiend · 02/06/2024 20:23

5'6 and 10 stone 11. Desperately trying to get into a 'healthy BMI' weight, which I believe is 10, 2.

Dont want to go any lower, just dont want to be overweight. But Im quite flabby

YorkNew · 02/06/2024 20:24

Five feet one inch and 11 stone, this time last year I was almost 14 stone.

I'm the same as you and thought that was a healthy BMI, albeit at the upper limit

Ravenclawhouse · 02/06/2024 20:25

I am 5"5 and 54 kilos. I am 44 and the doctor said I should not go any lower at my age.

rileyy · 02/06/2024 20:25

6’0ft/183cm and weigh 73kg/11.5 stone. I wear a size 10

PKNI · 02/06/2024 20:26

At 5' 4" and 8 st 7 lbs, NHS BMI calculator says your BMI would be 20.40, which is well towards the lower end of the healthy range. Depending on your own personal frame and body shape, that might be ok for you, or not. You may well look and feel better at your current weight. It's your body, your health and your decision. Wonder why your friend isn't celebrating your hard earned success in losing weight?!

UnctuousUnicorns · 02/06/2024 20:26

5 feet tall, currently 8 stone. I have been heavier in the past, but I feel my best at this weight or slightly below.

AmusedMaker · 02/06/2024 20:28

5ft 6 & 10 stone.3
size 12/14.
could do with losing half a stone but I just can’t. ( No willpower )

PriscillaPresssley · 02/06/2024 20:29

Your shape changes as you get older no matter how fit and healthy you are, I'm 67, 5ft 3inches and weigh 60 kilos.

Years ago I could have been a stone lighter and looked well but it would be too light for me now as I don't want my face or legs any thinner.

LessOfMe99 · 02/06/2024 20:29

@GrinAndBeerIt Are you ok? That is an extremely low weight - considerably underweight. Hoping everything is ok with you x

Magehemela · 02/06/2024 20:29

5ft 7 and 10st 1lb (64kg).

Normal BMI but the heaviest non-pregnant weight I've ever been.

Prior to my third child I was always closer to 9st. I also exercised regularly, ate better and slept more, was slightly less stressed and younger, which probably explains the difference.

Huifen · 02/06/2024 20:30

5'6 and 50kg

Graceandfavor · 02/06/2024 20:31

I’m 5’3 and 9st 6 is spot on for me. I’m a couple of pounds over at the moment
