What’s your weight and height?

Ilovemycatalot · 02/06/2024 20:13

I’m 5ft 4 and after years of being overweight I’m finally down to 9 stone 6.
Recent conversation with friend who said I should aim for about 8 and a half stone for my height despite me currently being in the ideal BMI range.
just wondering what others are and if you are happy with your weight.
I realise we all carry weight differently so not a goady threat by any means.
For the record I was 11 stone before the weight loss.

Yep, it feels on here like everyone on here is skinny and size 8 and I just don't see that in real life.

MN is known for not being representative of the population as a whole.

The tone of the thread is also likely to put off heavier people.

Plus people can make up anything they like. I could say that I'm 5'7 and 9 stone 10 and no-one will know whether or not that's true.

As someone with a professional interest in statistics, I find it fascinating how misrepresentative the results of a 'survey' can be if it is sufficiently poorly designed and controlled.

MayonnaiseOnMyChips · 02/06/2024 23:04

Where's all my fatties at??
I'm 18stone 🙌🤣

cozycat1 · 02/06/2024 23:06

5ft 2 ,around 8st 2 . Younger used to be around 7st 10 although one winter I went up to my heaviest which was around was 8 and a half stone when I eat so many carbs later at night as had odd shifts, was was living in a cold flat, and did no exercise.I looked and felt puffy and flabby at that weight. I definitely think people.have their own range of weight that suits them, irrespective of just height.

Quacking4it · 02/06/2024 23:09

5ft 7 and 8st 5. Last year was 7st 4

I find MN quite representive of real life. On the Style and Beauty forum there are plenty of larger ladies. It may be that heavier MNers don’t post on these types of threads though.

I'm the same. What's the reason to not go lower at our age?

Being underweight can put you at risk of osteoporosis as you get older.

Flidina · 02/06/2024 23:21

I'm 5'1 and 12st 4, I've lost nearly 6 stone since last year, through weightloss surgery, realistically I wanted to get to 9 stone, but don't really think it will suit me so will probably try for 9st 7.

HereComesEverybody · 02/06/2024 23:22

I'm 5ft 9" & 12 St 2 lbs In Jan I was 14st 3lbs.
I'm aiming for 11st 7lbs.its hard work....

ShyTed · 02/06/2024 23:22

It’s so interesting reading all the answers here and how everyone carries their weight differently.
I am 5ft 3 currently 12 stone, size 12 and I’m a couple of months into dieting. I am aiming for 10.5 which will put me very comfortably into a size 10. I’ve been 9.5 stone before and it just wasn’t maintainable for me. I’m happy to float between 10/10.5. ill hopefully get there in another few months so all my nice clothes fit me again 😂

uncomfortablydumb53 · 02/06/2024 23:24

I'm 5'4 and 8st10
However I'm 59, disabled and only eat one meal a day.

Octomingo · 02/06/2024 23:25

5'9 and no actual idea how much I weigh at the minute. I look slimmer than I feel though. Waist 28-29 inches, which is bigger than it used to be, but I'm mid 40s Hips been around 38 forever. 40 if you count the fattest part of my bum.Dress size 10-12.

My thinnest was 10st 2 in my early 20s and I looked ill. Because i was thin due to unhappiness.Lost my boobs pretty much and everything.

Beezknees · 02/06/2024 23:26

5'4, weighed last week at 13st 2lbs, actively started trying to lose weight this week as my BMI puts me in the obese category. I wear a size 14/16 currently.

Long term I am aiming to get down to 9 and a half stone which will realistically take me around 9 months to a year if I do it the healthy way.

stayathomer · 02/06/2024 23:27

5’4 and 10 stone exactly. I was 9 8 for years so would like to get there again simply as all my clothes feel uncomfortable and it’s all around my middle (and unfortunately did not shift to my boobs😅)

RM2013 · 02/06/2024 23:30

I’m 5ft2 and 9st 6lbs which puts me just in the healthy range for BMI. I tend to stay around this weight or 3lbs above or below.
i was happier when I was 8st 13 but find this hard to maintain.
im 50 but work out 5 times a week and carry a fair amount of muscle.
my heaviest weight was 11st 11 after having my first child (now aged 19)

Ladymuck2022 · 02/06/2024 23:31

5 ft 0 weighed at the leisure centre at 97.8 kg.
I go to Slimming World where I was most recently weighted at 15 stone. 9.5lb
I haven’t been at the 15 stone bracket since early 2015.

I’m short. 😊 bad at other people’s weight too I thought someone was 18 stone when through own admission they were more 25 stone.

Halfheadhighlights · 02/06/2024 23:32

5ft5. 10 stone 1. Aiming for 9 stone 10. My lowest was 9 stone 6 and I looked skinny.

I think I’m going to go by how I feel and look

SheepAndSword · 02/06/2024 23:41

I can't put my stats at the moment as they're not representative of ME.

Well my height is fixed but my weight has plummeted due to a disease and I feel very embarrassed about it. Nutritionist was fab and said I'll put it back on slowly.

Qwertyyui · 02/06/2024 23:52

5'3 and 8st 5. I go to the gym 5-6 days a week so quite a bit of it is muscle. I've always ranged between 8st and 9st 7. I feel big in the 9st range for me.

Rookangaroo4 · 03/06/2024 00:01

I’m 5ft 4 and about 13 stone. I’m a size 14/16. My ideal weight is around 10st then I’m a size 10 /12.

thiscantbeforever · 03/06/2024 00:01

5 foot 4 and 94kg. Hate how I look but can’t seem to get a hold of myself since having a baby nearly 2 years ago. Feel disgusting and am revolted by how much I can eat.
Now feeling even bigger after seeing how overweight I am compared to everyone else on this thread.

wateringcanface · 03/06/2024 00:21

I'm 5'9 and about 15 stone. Its mind boggling to me that women can be my weight and be 8-10 stone. If I lost 5 stone of weight I feel like there would hardly be anything left of me. Body composition is very strange.

Aria999 · 03/06/2024 00:26

Halfheadhighlights · 02/06/2024 23:32

5ft5. 10 stone 1. Aiming for 9 stone 10. My lowest was 9 stone 6 and I looked skinny.

Everyone looks so different even at the same weight / height, going by how you feel and look is all you can do really.

pippapipps · 03/06/2024 00:29

I'm 5ft 5 and 51.5kg and wear a size 8

Sugarnspicenallthingsnaice · 03/06/2024 00:33

Babbababoon · 02/06/2024 20:44

Almost 6ft (182cm) and 57kg, which I think is 9 stone. Around 62kg is better for me but I shrivel up post partum and will likely go back to normal when mat leave finishes.

Gosh that's lean, even at your unshrivelled weight! I'm envious - at 180-181cm (depending on who's measuring) I haven't been able to get under 70kg for 20 years. Do you have to work hard to stay so slim?

LesFreursDuMal · 03/06/2024 01:41

5'11'' and 55kg, that's 8.6 stone I believe. Happy with that, don't want to gain anything. I don't look unwell, but long and lean/willowy.

It does take some work, but I agree with the famous Moss' quote, tbh.
