What’s your weight and height?

Ilovemycatalot · 02/06/2024 20:13

I’m 5ft 4 and after years of being overweight I’m finally down to 9 stone 6.
Recent conversation with friend who said I should aim for about 8 and a half stone for my height despite me currently being in the ideal BMI range.
just wondering what others are and if you are happy with your weight.
I realise we all carry weight differently so not a goady threat by any means.
For the record I was 11 stone before the weight loss.

I'm 5 foot 4 and somewhere around 11 stone 10lbs. Not happy with my weight at all, ideally I'd like to lose around 2 stone.

DancelikeFredAstaire · 02/06/2024 22:31

5'6 and 9st8. I was 14st at my heaviest and I want to go back up to 10-10.5 as I looked and felt better then, but because 9.5 was deemed to be "healthier" that's what I went down to.

suntannedsnowballsinhellskitchensink · 02/06/2024 22:31

5ft 2 and 7.5st. I'm nearly 34, mum of 2 and always cold

I still wobble

I am no happier at this weight than I was at 9st 🤷🏽‍♀️

Panpastels · 02/06/2024 22:32

5, 5 and 13 stone 10 currently.
I was 20 stone a year ago so this feels slim to me 🤣. Aiming for a final goal weight of around 10 and a half stone. At nearly 50 I think I will just be a load of loose skin any lighter.

This thread is so interesting - people of similar heights seem to have widely varying ‘happy weights’.

I am 5’7 and weigh 10 stone 13. I feel that to be 10 stone would be ideal but that’s not based on anything really. Seeing people of my height being between 8 and 9 stone is interesting.

Yep but also points out that height isn't the only factor it's how someone carries that weight and what the contributing elements are (genetics and ethnicity generally).

I'm 5ft 6 currently 9 stone 11.5lb.
Body composition also plays a big role. I look pretty slim just under 10 stone mark but I have long legs which have a fair bit of muscle so for me anything below 9.5lb isn't good.
My lightest as an adult was 8 stone 5lb and I was a size 6 but I looked ill.

You can get scales that show you how "healthy" you are - they break down your weight into bone mass/muscle mass/water etc and then show you how strong/weak that is for your age. I found them amazing, but I do understand if people are cautious about weight it might be a bit too much!
I'm 5ft 9 and a bit and weigh just under 9st atm but tbf I am B12 deficient and have untreated hyperthyroidism atm (only just found out and first injection tomorrow!). I like these scales because you can also see visceral fat, so even if someone is thin they can see if they are healthy on the inside - which is really what matters, right?https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07WF6Q7FS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

5ft 6
9.13 -10-1 ( fluctuates by 1-2 )
Size 10

buckingmad · 02/06/2024 22:38

I’m 5ft2 with a petite frame. I think I look awful anything over 8.5 stone. I’ve just had second baby and am trying to get back to my pre second baby weight of 8 stone. Would love to get back to my pre first baby weight of 7.5 stone but think my breastfeeding boobs probably weigh 0.5 stone 😂

Whu · 02/06/2024 22:39

5 ft 3
66kg
size 12.
In the ‘overweight’ bmi and have a bit of belly I want to lose. I am fit though and lift weights / do cardio to a good level (hyrox).
I would take being muscular and healthy over skinny if I had to choose one (yet, if I can loose 3-4kg I’ll be pleased 😉).

PanicAttax · 02/06/2024 22:41

@Whu agreed there - muscle mass has nosedived for me and my arse looks like a pancake. Literally looked one day and it had gone! No idea how long that will take to re-plump! Bony as hell to sit on.

I'm 5' 4" and 9 stone 6 on me is a nice ordinary weight. Not tiny, a bit of spare flesh, but I felt fine, and was considered 'slim'. There wasn't much wriggle room and holiday or Xmas weight gain would leave me looking a bit chubby. The weight that suits me best is 8 stone 10, but I need to eat very well and excercise to stay that weight. 9 stone 6 for me is probably the sweet spot in balancing what I want to look like and what I want to eat. But everyone's different.

I am very similar. I’m 5 foot 4 and 9 stone 7 now. I usually hover at 9 stone 3 and a size 8. My clothes are tight on me at the moment and I don’t feel I look great. When I was 8 stone 10 I felt like I looked my best but it was an effort to maintain it because I needed to really watch what I ate. So I’m just aiming to get down to 9 stone ish.

Lilacdew · 02/06/2024 22:44

I'm 5'4 and 10.12. A fair amount of it is solid muscle as I weight train, but I am definitely overweight. My ideal weight for my body and age is now 9st 6.

Depends on your frame, OP. At 8st 4 I looked skeletal. But if you have a tiny frame, it could be fine.

orangeleopard · 02/06/2024 22:44

4’10 and exactly 7 stone

Ouch re. the bony bum!
It goes one way or another for us women doesn’t it and we are never happy either way…
I built muscle by - upping protein (vegan so it’s all tofu/ beans/ chickpea/ protein shakes); lifting weights 3 x week; creatine - very safe supplement unless you have kidney issues - and often very depleted in women’s muscles. I now feel very fit and muscular (not like popeye!) compared to when I was just doing cardio.

BobbyBiscuits · 02/06/2024 22:46

I'm knocking on the door of ok weight wise, I used to be 34kg when I was hospitalised.
I'm now around 40kg, 165cm, size 8.
I've big bones though, most people who weigh what I do would look really skinny, but I just look smallish. I have a big belly, no butt or hips! Lol.

BigBoysDontCry · 02/06/2024 22:46

5'10 and 9 stone 3.

Ive been heavier and also been down to 8'10 but that was far too light (I wasn't well).

Ahh, now that is very underweight still and in no way do you have a big belly! Hope you are ok and continue well with your recovery.

My protein has been going up, along with water - thanks to the scales I can see! I think it's maybe B12 causing muscle mass to dissolve (could it be turning it back into protein floating about?!) so I am hopeful it will reappear once its all stable again. Maybe I'm like a flump and the protein will reform into hopefully pert rounded buttocks overnight....😁

I use the Metlife Tables based upon pounds. It allows different lbs based upon sex and body frame.

What’s your weight and height?
Franticbutterfly · 02/06/2024 22:55

5' 5". 156lbs.

Astrak · 02/06/2024 22:56

5ft 9ins. 9st 8lbs.

I am 5"5 and 54 kilos. I am 44 and the doctor said I should not go any lower at my age.

I'm the same. What's the reason to not go lower at our age?

BobbyBiscuits · 02/06/2024 23:00

@Whu thank you.lol, I do have a pot belly as I do no exercise! I'm eating well now and gaining slowly x

LightSpeeds · 02/06/2024 23:02

I'm 5'2" and 8st 9lbs.

My scales tell me I'm 'hidden obese' and I think that's right (I'm 35% fat and look very 'blubbery') 😬

Mirabai · 02/06/2024 23:04

5’ 4” and 7 stone 12. I’ve got a jelly belly though.
