What’s your weight and height?

Ilovemycatalot · 02/06/2024 20:13

I’m 5ft 4 and after years of being overweight I’m finally down to 9 stone 6.
Recent conversation with friend who said I should aim for about 8 and a half stone for my height despite me currently being in the ideal BMI range.
just wondering what others are and if you are happy with your weight.
I realise we all carry weight differently so not a goady threat by any means.
For the record I was 11 stone before the weight loss.

5' 7" and 11 stone. Want to get to 10.7 but struggling lately. Menopause is a bitch.

Ilovemycatalot · 02/06/2024 20:50

I’m 45 and don’t think I can get any lower than my current weight!

You don’t need to!

user50and · 02/06/2024 20:51

5ft3 and 8'12

Ilovemycatalot · 02/06/2024 20:51

I guess my friend is a fitness fanatic so has quite a skewed idea on ideal weights.

Yeah 8.5 stone seems a little light for somronecas tall as you.
At 8.5 stone I was a size 6 (5ft) and that was top end of healthy BMI.

toomuch90 · 02/06/2024 20:54

I'm 5'4 and about your current weight OP. I am happy at this weight. My stomach is slightly squidgy and upper arms/thighs/hips etc. quite rounded but I still fit into (most of) my clothes and I've somehow kept my waistline the same size for the last few decades.

I have been well under 9 stone as an adult and it didn't look great, even though I was on a strict no refined sugar/low carb diet and doing a lot of sports at the time, had muscles etc. I lost a lot of fat around my neck and collarbones and arms etc. and just looked quite gaunt. I look back at photos of me and whereas the skintight lycra etc. looked amazing, everything from the boobs up didn't!

@GrinAndBeerIt Are you ok? That is an extremely low weight - considerably underweight. Hoping everything is ok with you x

She isnt at all, what are you talking about. Lower end of the healthy BMI for her height

onlyhereforthefood · 02/06/2024 20:54

I'm 5ft9 and 8st7lb

Since having my daughter two years ago this is where my body wants to me it seems. I eat well, and plenty (over 2000 calories a day)

I've been everywhere from 5-15 stone though in the past.

Thevelvelletes · 02/06/2024 20:55

Little n fat.

pandora206 · 02/06/2024 20:55

5ft 4in and 8st 8lb. I'm pretty happy with that and don't look thin. I do a lot of weight training which means I have some muscle definition, although I'm a pear shape and would prefer some boobs. (I didn't have those when I was 10st so no point putting on weight to get them).

soupfiend · 02/06/2024 20:56

Comingupriver · 02/06/2024 20:35

I think asking dress size is important here too. I’m 5ft 5 and 10.5 stone but a size 8. My BMI is misleading.

Thats a really good point, Im 6lbs heavier than you but a size 14 and my waist is massive, way over what it should be for my height. Which is virtually same as yours

5128gap · 02/06/2024 20:56

I'm 5' 4" and 9 stone 6 on me is a nice ordinary weight. Not tiny, a bit of spare flesh, but I felt fine, and was considered 'slim'. There wasn't much wriggle room and holiday or Xmas weight gain would leave me looking a bit chubby. The weight that suits me best is 8 stone 10, but I need to eat very well and excercise to stay that weight. 9 stone 6 for me is probably the sweet spot in balancing what I want to look like and what I want to eat. But everyone's different.

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 02/06/2024 20:56

I don’t pay much attention to height and weight, you could be all muscle.
I’m 5ft 6 and 11 stone and fat. Because it’s all sugar tummy, ass, tits. Hate it.
My best weight was 9.5 stone.

Exact same. Damn you, menopause. Just can't shift that half stone. No matter what I do.

Itsjustmyusername · 02/06/2024 20:57

Congratulations on your weight loss op!

Im 5’5” and weigh 10st 8lb. I was my heaviest ever a few weeks ago at about 11st. I’ve lost a little bit, but would like to get to 9st 7lb.

i would be interested to know what has worked for you op.

TheFormidableMrsC · 02/06/2024 20:58

5ft 5 and 12 stone. I do lift weights though. Toned and strong is my aim.

IwaslostinFrance · 02/06/2024 20:59

162cm & 55kg have been this weight most of my adult life.

Celerysalty · 02/06/2024 20:59

5 foot 7 and 8 stone 10. Would like to get back to 8.5 ideally!

Cherrysoup · 02/06/2024 20:59

It’s a crying shame we don’t have anything other than bmi. I am led to understand that no black people were used to create the chart, so I don’t understand why it asks for your ethnicity when you go to calculate-maybe they’re going to improve it?

lollilou2 · 02/06/2024 20:59

5ft 2, I’m 7st 11lb

Absolutely fine. I eat like a horse too.
Both my parents are on the small side too.
I was once asked how someone who looks like a skeleton was actually alive though ( which made me laugh tbh )

MaryFuckingFerguson · 02/06/2024 20:59

5’8.5 and 9stone 6. About 1/2 a stone heavier than I like to be.

Byronada · 02/06/2024 21:00

I'm 5'6 and broad shouldered. When I was in my 20s I lost a lot of weight and went down to just under 10 stone. My mum cried when she came to see me as she could see my ribs and hip bones. About 12 stone is ideal for me. I'm a bit more than that at the moment but I carry it well.

We're all different.

mightydolphin · 02/06/2024 21:00

I'm 10st5lbs. I have an 8MO baby, so I'm still shifting weight but I usually sit comfortably around 10stone. I'm 5'7, so I'm already in the healthy range but at 10st I comfortably fit in all size 8 clothing whereas my unforgiving Levis jeans are a bit snug at the moment.

I got down to 9st5 for my wedding day but ribs were starting to show. I have a broad-ish frame and I'm quite muscular with heavy bones (I can't float in a pool 😅).
