We had a beautiful day yesterday on the Kent coast, bright sunshine all day.

It makes such a difference to be able to see some sun and seat on the beach!

AhBiscuits · 30/04/2024 09:42

Working from home and have my heated throw on my lap.

RampantIvy · 30/04/2024 13:02

It's 14 degrees, the sun is out and it is windy, so I have stripped the bed, washed the bedding and I now have it all on the line - oh joy!

Hobnobswantshernameback · 30/04/2024 19:23

11 degrees and pissing down and windy here
its like October
Forecast for the weekend was good now showing as even more rain
i actually feel I can't take much more of this
i am an outdoor person and this is after a long wet winter is just too much now

CherryBombe · 30/04/2024 20:28

I managed to get 2 loads of washing on the line

We bought a new, reduced BBQ at the end of season in September 2022. We got it home and it began to drizzle. I think we've used it about 3 times since.

We bought one at a similar time and haven't used it much. We also bought an awning in 2022 as we were eating outside and getting sunburnt. Last year it wasn't used at all 🙈

AhBiscuits · 02/05/2024 06:27

Got woken up by the sound of thunder and torrential rain. Just lightly raining now.

JoJothegerbil · 02/05/2024 07:58

Yesterday turned out ok in the end. Not warm, but it was at least sunny in the far west. However, today is back to dull skies and drizzly rain. So fed up now.

My birthday is this weekend and it's usually ok, not boiling but definitely nudging 18°/19° with some sun. My most memorable birthday was 1976 when my parents had the paddling pool out and we all ran round the garden in our swimsuits! Pretty sure I'll be in a jumper and wellies this weekend.

Just seen a headline predicting a washout for Bank Holiday weekend. I'm pretty sure it was only a day or so ago that I saw a headline promising a Bank Holiday heatwave. I give up, how on earth are people supposed to make any plans?

Hedjwitch · 03/05/2024 09:23

We have actually had sunshine in Central Scotland for a few days now. And very welcome it is too. Still chilly out of the sun but at least it has stopped pissing down.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 03/05/2024 09:26

Back to normal in SW London i.e grey and rain.

Just seen a headline predicting a washout for Bank Holiday weekend

TBF when I was growing up it was a standing joke that bank holidays were always washed out.

MissyB1 · 03/05/2024 10:43

Heavy rain again this morning in Gloucestershire, it’s just stopped. The ground just can’t fry out because we never get more than one dry day.

MissyB1 · 03/05/2024 10:43

*dry out not fry out 😂

EasternStandard · 03/05/2024 10:45

Looks like last horrible day here

Cold, wet and windy but next week looks nice

RampantIvy · 03/05/2024 11:07

Cloudy with heavy rain forecast today here in south Yorkshire.
Yesterday was lovely. We hit 20 degrees and some sunshine in the afternoon.
cloudy forecast for the weekend with sunshine and showers on Monday.

Desecratedcoconut · 03/05/2024 11:11

It's cloudy but the solar is still doing 1.7kw so the light levels aren't too bad. I have washing on the line so I am hopeful that the most recent forecast of no rain until 6pm holds out.
