It’s May next week. The longest day of the year in seven weeks.

It’a currently 8 degrees and raining.

I am still wear my winter wardrobe.

This must be the worst spring on record. Where is the sun.

I looked out of my bedroom window this morning and remarked to DH that if it weren't for the leaves on the trees being green, you would think it was October.

Thought exactly the same last night, it's slightly odd to have autumnal weather and trees springing into leaf at the same time. Currently grey and breezy in SW London but according to the met office will clear by late afternoon. And SUN tomorrow! (allegedly). That'll dry us out for the next deluge.

The “snug indoors with hot chocolate” gets old after 8 months surely? summer haters who must be in heaven this year.

Getting my summer clothes out in anticipation. Also fed up with rain, rain, rain. Heating still on

Scotland are getting longer daylight hours though. Guess that’s a bonus.

Climate action policies from government invariably ends up with us having to pay more money and the leaders of the world laughing all the way to the bank.

Bad weather is nothing new, but we're definitely seeing more extremes - wetter winters & springs, bigger storms etc, exactly as was predicted to happen.
Been in horticulture for 30 years & it really is much, much more challenging now. You can wish away climate change all you like, but you'll still see the results in terms of food shortages & high prices.

FWIW isnt it supposed to warm up around Wednesday? I certainly hope so. I went to visit my mum yesterday and when I went out into the garden it felt like winter (in Bucks).

It's not that cold round here, but it's rained every fucking day at some point, if not all day apart from one or two days in recent memory!

No reprieve up in the North I’m afraid for this upcoming week. Rain forecast for most of the week, with temps reaching a high of 14 degrees. I’m beyond depressed, and we only have a window of four months, before the long drag into Autumn.

I'm with you. I'm usually quite hardy/pragmatic but this interminable wind and rain is really getting to me now.

I want to sort my garden out and generally be spending time outside but instead I feel like I'm hibernating.

If climate on earth is impacted by humans, the more pressing issues is the 80million that gets added to it every year, not whether Julie next door uses plastic straws instead of paper ones.

It's wrecked my garden. The lawn is just dreadful. Full of moss and bare patches from sitting water

As the effects of climate change really start to bite we are going to see more and more rain at our latitude unfortuneately. It's going to destroy arable farming here as the ground will no longer be able to cope.

So you are looking forward to paying more for your food and possible shortages? Did you not read the post from a farmer?

I'm in London and is literally hashing stopped raining, next Saturday is meant to be clear blue skies though.

Not here in the midlands sadly. Temperatures due to rise to mid teens but still rain every day.

I’m just waiting for the hosepipe ban that will inevitably come after the 2 weeks of dry weather we have in August!

Baffled that anyone can prefer this cold wet grey constant miz to a soft warm 21 degrees sunny May Day but there are lots of weirdos in the world I guess.
