How many machine washes do you do a day?

Family of 6 (and 4 pets) so I do 2 a day minimum and use the dryer unless it's summer.

Each person has a day for their weekly basket of clothes to be washed.
Then there's always another load to do, bedding, towels, pet bedding, cushion covers, coats etc.

6 humans and 6 dpets here.. At least 3 washes a day. Extra at week ends... Actually had stuff hung out lately with success!

isthistoonosy · 08/02/2024 11:31

Family of four, 3 dogs. 1-2 per week, never use the dryer.

Could you tell me a bit more about your routine or technique for this please, would love to reduce ours down to this

WhatHaveIFound · 08/02/2024 11:33

3 adults and no pets. 2-4 washes a week depending on bedding changes. I only use the dryer for towels. Dark & light laundry bins in our room, DS adds to it when he fills up his single laundry bin.

Icystars · 08/02/2024 11:35

Family of 4. I prob do 4 a week - one whites, one bedding and towels and 2 dark.

How? Surely a weeks clothes for 4 people would be this? Never mind towels, bedding, and extra things like PE kits or coats etc

Some days it'll be 2, some days 1. I hate using the dryer but no choice sometimes in the winter !!
I do have two heated airers though that are pretty much on all day everyday, love those things.

FloofCloud · 08/02/2024 11:35

4 humans and 4 pets
We do about 5 - 6 washes at the weekend plus a few in the week

You've just reminded me I need to do our bedding lol 😂

34weekmess · 08/02/2024 11:35

Sorry forgot to say - 2 adults 2 kids one cat

sunnydays8 · 08/02/2024 11:37

6 humans, twice a day on average.

StartingAgain2024 · 08/02/2024 11:39

2A, 2C, no pets here.

It's on at least once every day, maybe 2-3 days a week it needs running twice.

The laundry is never ending, can't wait for the weather to improve here so I can dry outside again!

LaPalmaLlama · 08/02/2024 11:40

2 adults, 2 dc. Probably averages one load a day/ 6 per week including bedding and towels. There are hardly any whites so that’s a half load once a week. There is a LOT of sports kit.

Gemstonebeach · 08/02/2024 11:40

1 adult 2 children - about four washes a week, sometimes all on Saturday!

Temporaryname158 · 08/02/2024 11:42

1 adult 2 children.

2 clothes washes a week 1 lights, 1 darks. Bedding and towels done fortnightly.

we wear clothes more than once and don’t wash it unless it’s actually dirty

FriendlyNeighbourhoodAccountant · 08/02/2024 11:43

2 adults, 1 child and 1 dog.
We do around 4 washes a week, one of those is sheets/towels etc. We use the dryer for bedding and towels, everything else is hung on the airer.

IggOrEgg · 08/02/2024 11:43

Two adults, one toddler, two dogs. I’d say two washes a day. Sometimes only one (or none) but then I have to catch up on another day! Never get ahead of the washing 🤦🏼‍♀️ Use the dryer for everything, unless it’s summertime. We live on a farm so fighting that mud battle is a challenge!

OldTinHat · 08/02/2024 11:45

One adult. One wash a week, sometimes two in ten days.

mealideas2024 · 08/02/2024 11:45

Probably four loads a week at the moment, sometimes five. Family of four, no pets.

Snippit · 08/02/2024 11:45

2 humans, 3 dogs. Two loads a week, no tumble drier. Can’t wait to dry outdoors again.

Jules912 · 08/02/2024 11:47

1-2 a day family of 4, no pets but children quite young. Why are you washing by person? I do by colour/cycle so roughly:
Darks
Jeans (everyone seems to live in them so make a full load)
Delicates (by colour so usually 2 loads)
Lights
Whites
School uniform
Towels and bedding (2-3 loads)

SallyWD · 08/02/2024 11:49

Two adults, two children here. I don't wash clothes every day but some days I might do two loads. I'd say on average 6 loads a week perhaps.

thecatsthecats · 08/02/2024 11:52

Two adults, one baby, one cat. Probably should be once every five days, but we're a bit lazy with it, so more like three done on the tenth day.

79redballoons · 08/02/2024 11:54

2 adults, 3 children, 1 dog here.

2 loads of bedding, 1 load of towels, 3 loads of dark or colours and 1 load of light washing per week generally... so one per day

ALongHardWinter · 08/02/2024 11:55

Just me and my cat. 1 clothes wash per week and a towel/bed linen wash once every 10 - 12 days.

C00k · 08/02/2024 11:55

1 wash every 10-ish days. Childfree home.
