How many machine washes do you do a day?

Family of 6 (and 4 pets) so I do 2 a day minimum and use the dryer unless it's summer.

Each person has a day for their weekly basket of clothes to be washed.
Then there's always another load to do, bedding, towels, pet bedding, cushion covers, coats etc.

One woman, one teen boy, five washes a week.

One whites
One darks
Two lots of bedding
One for assorted other stuff - towels, face flannels etc

4 adults. One a day - unless, very occasionally, there isn’t enough to make up a wash load. I’ve done it like this since my kids were children.

Family of four, 3 dogs. 1-2 per week, never use the dryer.

Family of 4 here in a very busy household. No less than 20 loads per week in a 10kg machine.

8 dark loads including jeans.
2 lights.
1 white boil wash.
3 bedding loads.
6-8 loads of towels (changed after every use).

It seems like an excessive amount of laundry, I wash 2 loads per day during the week and the rest at the weekend.

Gosh that is a lot @Kav95 but I am a slattern who doesn't do sheets every week and towels after one use. We have seven in our house, I do half the amount of washing you do!

Me too.

washing towels after one use seems crazy.

Family of 4. 2 during the week, so say every 2 to 3 days, then 2 of 3 at the weekend, school clothes, then bedding etc.

Petergriffinschins · 15/12/2024 04:19

5 of us and the dog.

1 or 2 loads a day and always use the dryer, even in summer as I can’t be fucked hanging washing out; don’t even have a washing line in the garden and the house is old and damp enough anyway without washing adding to it.

Would probably be more if I separated anything, •lights/darks but never have done, everything goes in together and everything goes in the dryer, life’s too short to fuck about with dirty washing. Never had an issue.

I think I need a bigger drum washing machine. How are people getting 3/4 beds in ONE load? It must get creased to fuck!

And not properly cleaned that crammed in!!oh dear god, SORRY, I didn't realise I was on such an out of date thread!! Shoot me now, I'll stand still!!

showersandflowers · 15/12/2024 05:02

Family of 3 with 1 dog. A wash every day. No tumble dryer, just line dry or on racks inside. Sometimes our house is like a laundry room but it has to be done!

SophiaRose91 · 15/12/2024 06:39

2/3 a day and there is 2 of us. Im always doing bedding, bath mats, towels and cleaning cloths so thats why i do so much lol x

Gwenhwyfar · 15/12/2024 20:43

Once every 3 weeks at the laundrette in the double machine. The odd extra white wash. This includes all clothes, bedding and towels.

Edit: And now I see that I answered this ages ago.
