Do you wash your hands after a wee in the night?

It’s the middle of the night and you’re up for a wee. (Assume you’ve just dabbed yourself dry with loo roll, no other bodily fluids present!) Do you do a full 30 second soap and water hand wash vs after? A quick water-only rinse, and pat dry? Not wash at all and go straight back to bed? Something else completely?

I’ve often wondered what others do but too afraid to ask in real life 🫢

Yes, of course!

Vettrianofan · 15/01/2024 21:45

No I don't. Too sleepy. And my moisturiser for my dry hands would then need to be reapplied....

PamelaParis · 15/01/2024 21:45

Team Straight Back to Bed here!

Hermittrismegistus · 15/01/2024 21:45

I wash my hands fully.

TeaKitten · 15/01/2024 21:45

Yes I always wash my hands after the toilet, why wouldn’t you?

XenoBitch · 15/01/2024 21:45

No. I live on my own and don't really care.

Camsclownshoes · 15/01/2024 21:46

Wash as normal

Scabz · 15/01/2024 21:46

No

breakfastdinnerandtea · 15/01/2024 21:46

I wash as normal, why wouldn't you?!

ApolloandDaphne · 15/01/2024 21:46

Nah. Quick wee, right back to bed. No flushing and no hand washing. Then when I wee before I get up I wash my hands thoroughly.

ALunchbox · 15/01/2024 21:46

No I don't.

xsquared · 15/01/2024 21:47

Yes, always.

Wimbledonmum1985 · 15/01/2024 21:47

Absolutely not. My sleep is precarious enough. I’m not going to risk waking myself up after a wee.

Because I'm too tired and want my bed. I know il be called disgusting though.

youngestisapsycho · 15/01/2024 21:48

No.. straight back to bed then I’ll wee again when I actually get up and wash hands then

BigBoysDontCry · 15/01/2024 21:48

Quick rinse and back to bed, can't do nothing and deny 50 odd years of conditioning.

That said I rarely get up during the night.

BillieJ · 15/01/2024 21:48

Nope. Still alive.

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 15/01/2024 21:48

Quick splash under the tap, no soap

Zampa · 15/01/2024 21:49

Straight back to bed after a wee. Wash hands in the morning. No flushing either. I don't want to disturb anyone.

I'm not touching anything/transferring gems so don't see the issue.

KateyCuckoo · 15/01/2024 21:49

Yes because I suck my thumb!

soundsys · 15/01/2024 21:50

Bleurgh

Isn't it sort of just second nature to wash hands after a wee? Even in my sleep I'm pretty sure I'd wash my hands!

Noneofourbusiness · 15/01/2024 21:51

I flush and wash my hands as normal. Don't want toilet germs on my sheets Grin

Genericusername12345 · 15/01/2024 21:51

I can’t believe how many people don’t wash their hands! This confirms for me that people are always dirtier than I expect them to be.

Waitingfordoggo · 15/01/2024 21:51

No, I don’t bother. Doesn’t really matter if internet strangers think it’s disgusting as they don’t have to share my bed and my DH certainly doesn’t care- I don’t think he washes his either. We also share our bed with a dog so we’re just generally disgusting really. 😂 I always shower or wash in the morning though which will naturally involve giving my hands a decent wash before I come into any contact with the public.

I think cos people worry it will wake them up.

I think I do a quick splash, and then properly in the morning.
