Do you wash your hands after a wee in the night?

It’s the middle of the night and you’re up for a wee. (Assume you’ve just dabbed yourself dry with loo roll, no other bodily fluids present!) Do you do a full 30 second soap and water hand wash vs after? A quick water-only rinse, and pat dry? Not wash at all and go straight back to bed? Something else completely?

I’ve often wondered what others do but too afraid to ask in real life 🫢

Nope

I don’t touch the lid, it’s always up, the seat is always down

Wow. I had no idea people dont shut the lid before every flush.

Are you not worried about toilet germs spraying about your bathroom?

No

HTH

Comedycook · 15/01/2024 22:11

No or just a quick splash of water but I wash my hands thoroughly once I get up.

I'm still alive

FrostieBoabby · 15/01/2024 22:12

I wash mine, hot soapy water but not for 30 seconds.

DH leaves the seat up and touching it to put it down before I use it is definitely worthy of a good hand wash at any time of the day.

Don't fancy rubbing my eyes etc with hands that have touched the toilet seat.

OpalOrchid · 15/01/2024 22:12

I always have a bath after and then a shower. Anything less than that is disgusting.

Thecatmaster · 15/01/2024 22:08

Wot?? There are actually people here who don't wash their hands after going to the toilet? What does it matter whether it is day or night? You're still touching all the same stuff whether the stars are out or not!

Not very likely to be making or eating food.

By the time I’ve made it to the toilet, I’m no longer half asleep so why wouldn’t I wash my hands? Madness

I hardly open my eyes if I need to get up and go to the toilet and still don't manage to get piss on my hands so don't bother. Madness.

Missingmyusername · 15/01/2024 22:13

I wash my hands and pull the flush, I wake up a few times a night and always have. Wide awake. I shower and moisturise before bed and in the morning.

skilpadde · 15/01/2024 22:13

No. I wash my hands a lot during the day, including last thing before bed.

But if I get up in the night to go to the loo, getting back to sleep is a precarious thing. Washing my hands in cold water or delaying getting back into bed (by running the hot tap for 2 mins until it gets warmer than baltic) makes it highly unlikely I'd get back to sleep for a couple of hours.

That makes me wonder - if the people who wash their hands despite having touched nothing but loo roll have to leap out of bed for a scrub should their hands happen to encounter genitals in bed?ConfusedGrin

Yes I thought the same.

Are the people who wash their hands and are sickened by those who don't, also getting out of bed straight after sex to wash their hands?

EffieGraysDisappointingWeddingNight · 15/01/2024 22:13

Nope

Changedmymind99 · 15/01/2024 22:14

Yes!!! I would feel gross not washing them

I think they wear rubber gloves.

I honestly don’t wash my hands after most of my wees, assuming hands havent got wee on them etc (which most of the time they don’t!) I’m not that arsed if it’s grim, I’m convinced way more people do similar than they admit, haha. Anyway there’s way more germs on a keyboard or on your phone, it’s fineeee

Well, there almost certainly are on your keyboard and phone! 😉

@FrostieBoabby

have you considered cleaning your toilet seat?

why does your DH pee on the toilet seat?

Next people will be saying they don't change their sheets in the middle of the night after sex.

😂😂😂

Josette77 · 15/01/2024 22:16

I wash always. Toilets have germs. Lifting the toilet seat lid as it is requires me to wash my hands.

notanothernana · 15/01/2024 22:16

No. No need as I don't flush.

Fullofpudding · 15/01/2024 22:17

Nope not for me. I'd wake up.

I just give them a lick if I think they're dirty after Wink

RomeoandJomeo · 15/01/2024 22:17

No. I usually manage not to piss on my hands.

I think they wear rubber gloves.

And a hazmat suit with holes in the crotch areas.

Seriously, this thread 😂😂
