Surely I've summited Peak Boring?

This happened last night but I'm still mildly appalled with myself.

I was in bed, kissed DH goodnight, laid my head down on the pillow and felt a pleasing jolt of anticipation for the next day. I couldn't think why for a moment, then realised that it was because Amazon was delivering my new loo brush today.

I'm only 36. Surely this is as boring as I'll get?

My excitement yesterday (part1) was the bin men returned my bin to my garden, they usually abandon it at the end of the close with others.
(part2) It was not a bin man, it was a woman.

Not boring - it's science! When we get stuff done and achieve tasks our brains release dopamine which is a feel good chemical so completely normal you'd feel good at getting something done. Alcohol also increases dopamine (temporarily, then it crashes really low afterwards hence why we feel shit) so in a way this is a far better, more lasting way to feel good!

I got a lazy susan for Christmas and sometimes I just sit at the table and spin it to enjoy the wonder of condiments to hand.

Spotted a beautiful fluffy sheep draft excluder at the supermarket the other day. Suggested to DH that he buy it for my birthday in a few weeks and he looked at me like I'm the crazy one. He doesn't get it does he 🙄

@Mynaddmawr you could also be the proud owner of a life changing planner! Mine arrives tomorrow.

Bin day excites me! I get far too much enjoyment out of making sure it's fully full and getting rid of anything hanging around in different rooms etc

I know that loo brushes are considered filthy, déclassé, shameful household items in the virtual world of MN. However, in my real world I have a house full of people who need to scrub below the waterline. I feel I've done my life's share of poo-related tasks, so won't be donning the Marigolds to do it all myself.

@LadyGAgain it's not brushed brass, sorry. It's this Joseph Joseph one. I spent a good 15 minutes agonising over whether the Flex 360 ecru would go with my bathroom's colour scheme or if I should get the model with a built-in bleach holder before putting my sensible head back on and getting the cheapest Lite model.

DH rolls his eyes whenever I announce that I'm off to the tip. According to him, the better method of getting rid of a huge cardboard box is to cut it into pieces with a Stanley knife and fill up the entire recycling bin 🙄

You should've seen the excitement when the new tumble dryer arrived 😂

So exited for the rattan tray I’ve ordered so I can arrange some mugs on it in the kitchen 😶

For the bin excitement, on Alexa, there's a bin calendar you can set up to tell you which bin goes out that week.

You're not alone! I get stupidly excited by laundry products and also watching my clothes washing in their soapy bubbles...sad or what. 🙈

Neighbour downstairs puts the recycling bins back crooked, though. The day isn't right until they're straight and in the correct place.

My boring order of straw brushes betrayed me and went and got exciting! I bought them from Temu (shhh) and got them on a 95% off pop up. Which then went to a 55% off 5 other items so I picked some educational games for the children. Then went to check out. £18 owed, except I had a forgotten about £10 voucher, so £8 for everything. Be still my pounding, bargain loving heart.

I get more excited about taking the decorations down than I do when putting them up!
