...the lid of your wheelie bin is frozen shut. 😂

Come tell me the random little signs of winter where you are. ❄🌨

…I’m totally miserable for 6months.
Not so little a sign really. Cold really makes me feel miserable and ill.

Madlymumming · 01/12/2023 18:15

...... when the butter is still rock hard in the butter dish.

BlueThursday · 01/12/2023 18:16

The postie is wearing slightly longer shorts

Lilithlogic · 01/12/2023 18:17

I finally put a jumper on

TheHawkisHowling · 01/12/2023 18:17

Stuffy air in my house because I can't open the windows or have the heating on significantly because it's unbearable.

Danikm151 · 01/12/2023 18:18

The leaves on the ground are crunchy!

Why can’t you have your heating on?

Justmuddlingalong · 01/12/2023 18:19

I need to use warm water to thaw the inch thick ice in the bird bath.

Marmite27 · 01/12/2023 18:19

The honey solidifies

oldestmumaintheworld · 01/12/2023 18:22

I have to put the windscreen cover on overnight so that I can get straight in the car and don't have to defrost it. Thank you Lidl!

Neveraga1n · 01/12/2023 18:23

The cats don't go out and start using the litter tray or shower (if bathroom door is open).

Defiantlynot41 · 01/12/2023 18:24

The cats line up at 4pm to tell me to light the lights fire

Our cats are disinclined to go out as well, or at least if they do, they are asking to come back in after about 90 seconds. Wimps.

NotFastButFurious · 01/12/2023 18:35

The car windscreen hasn’t thawed all day

MrsMoastyToasty · 01/12/2023 18:36

The cat drinks from the loo instead of his usual puddle outside ( he's a fussy bugger and doesn't like tap water).

Simonjt · 01/12/2023 18:39

You have to turn the heated driveway on, otherwise its too slippery to walk on to leave the garden.

Ovaltiner · 01/12/2023 18:39

I get a really painful split in my heel.

How??? It's not as if I'm wearing sandals?!

NeverDropYourMooncup · 01/12/2023 18:39
  1. The kids are wearing tights under their belts school skirts and might even be wearing coats.
  2. You wake up at 3am with cats in your bed, rather than on the bed.
  3. People who live at either end of the bus route are stranded because the bus drivers don't fancy coming downhill sideways (and backwards).
  4. I'm actually wearing socks indoors.
  5. The gritter lorries are all parked up in the depot because nobody at the LA thought the weather forecast was in any way relevant to planning because it never snows in December. And probably didn't get around to ordering grit in any case.
  6. People start washing their cars at the weekend to ensure that there are sheets of ice across the pavements, having not bothered all summer or autumn.

Absolutely this.
I hate it and am having a horrible time atm.

BoobyDazzler · 01/12/2023 18:40

The dog doesn’t want to go on a long walk and is content with a tootle round the block.. In his defence he is a bony lurcher with not an ounce of fat on him.

Heated driveway?! What wizardry is this?

LubaLuca · 01/12/2023 18:44

Your teenage son leaves the house wearing a coat. No nagging required, not stuffed in his bag, actually on and zipped up.

Headaching · 01/12/2023 18:46

When I get chillblaines no matter how hard I try not to!!

Santaiswashinghissleigh · 01/12/2023 18:47

Had our dcat 3 years. Managed to keep her in with the ddogs in the next room who keep peeping in! No hissing yet. Progress indeed!

I can't spread my damn butter.
