Paris Hilton surrogacy

"Surrogacy was a difficult decision to make," she admitted.
"I would have loved that experience of growing the baby in your tummy and feeling the kicks and all of those exciting moments, but my life has just been so public," she continued. "So even though the baby is biologically mine and Carter's, we decided to have a surrogate carry him."

What does that even mean ? What does being in the public eye have to do with carrying your own child ?

I guess you wouldn't know if you haven't lived your life like that. I'm sure she is making the right decision for her and her family.

I don’t follow her (honest!) but saw a clip yesterday where she said if the paparazzi found she was going into hospital/having a baby, they’d be constantly hounded. Maybe that’s what she’s getting at?

But isn't that the case with every celebrity ?
I don't know, she seems like a nice enough person but just seems like a crappy excuse imo

She doesn’t need to justify her choices to anyone though. It's not an excuse it's just her reasoning.

She's a legend in her own mind. Plenty of celebs hide pregnancies if and when they want to. She's still bought a baby at the end of the day.

So she didn’t want to be hounded by the paps during a pregnancy? What does she plan on doing if they hound her while she’s out with her baby, outsource parenting to another woman too?
FFS, It was bad enough when rich women were too posh to push and with Paris Hilton’s track record of collecting and discarding cute small animals I dread to think what this poor child’s upbringing will be like.

@FatFilledTrottyPuss people have already said cruel comments about her little boy and what he looks like (I've seen photos - he is adorable).
I feel deeply sorry for her since the truth about her past was revealed.

Is she still hounded by the press? I’m not into celebs but haven’t heard of her in a while. It’s the thing to buy babies with celebs. Quite horrible.

It’s interesting that the media will give celebs and women a hard time for getting elective c-sections but buying babies doesn’t seem to have any negativity.

I don't see why Paris should get any less slack for using a surrogate than other people get, especially on Mumsnet you see it's very very frowned upon. Even medical reasons is no excuse so being too famous surely shouldn't be justifiable?

I think at that level of "celebrity" she might just be used to getting what she wants without the effort.

I know, that sounds incredibly bitchy. I'm almost embarrassed to say it. But, by not being pregnant, she could still work/party/travel/model/dj/whatever she wanted without restriction. And then accept delivery of the baby just as she would accept delivery of any other product she had ordered.

It's a messed up way of thinking, but ultra rich people have the luxury of choices like this. Literally anything can be bought.

It does read as 'I'm just not willing to risk my body like that but I'm happy for another woman to risk hers'. I also find it weird that she's blaming her fame, when she didn't exactly shy away from fame in her younger days. As an heiress she could have had a perfectly normal life just being a normal person in Southern California.

I saw the video where she said she was petrified of giving birth so maybe that’s why. It wasn’t a fertility issue.

Everyone should take the best journey to parenthood for them. As long as everyone involved is happy and has capacity to make decisions, it's no one else's business.

Also, who gives a fuck about being very very frowned upon. Medical reasons are no excuse? Who exactly are these grown people seeking approval from the masses?

I just can't understand it. If you asked these people 'do you agree with slavery?' they'd say no - but then they go and buy a child and remove it from it's mother. Absolutely disgusting. No humans should be bought or sold.

So she isn't carrying the baby. She certainly won't be raising the baby. I guess she gets to name them?

She's very image conscious right so she probably didn't want to wreck her figure.
