Paris Hilton surrogacy

geevesask · 30/11/2023 19:46

"Surrogacy was a difficult decision to make," she admitted.
"I would have loved that experience of growing the baby in your tummy and feeling the kicks and all of those exciting moments, but my life has just been so public," she continued. "So even though the baby is biologically mine and Carter's, we decided to have a surrogate carry him."

What does that even mean ? What does being in the public eye have to do with carrying your own child ?

It was the stories coming out of Ukraine when the war broke out that made the last remaining scales fall from my eyes.

I saw a few “heartwarming” stories about UK/ Irish couples managing to get their surrogate babies out of the country shortly after the Russians invaded.

Not one of them mentioned the surrogate mother, whether it was saying she was ok and safe, or thanking her for the massive sacrifice she’d made for them. It was as if these babies just appeared from nowhere and had just been rerouted to the wrong sorting office.

I remember reading some encouraged their surrogate to stay in Ukraine rather than leaving when Russia invaded. Because in Ukraine law is favourable to people having children via surrogate- I think it was something like the intended parent could be on the birth certificate as birth parent

I read an article (based on her reality show) where she openly said she didn't change the baby's nappy for the first month and asked her sister if she should get the nanny to show her. And then said to baby something like, 'I shouldn't be doing this on my birthday but I will for you'. How utterly sad that is. She is completely removed from reality.

Well it it’s the latest baby fad and she is so self absorbed she couldn’t allow herself to put on weight

25-30 years ago it was adopting a baby from China than a little later a black baby now let’s just pay someone to have a biological baby of my own

it’s absolutely appalling how to have a baby of your own follows a trend

I think it’s more to do with people desperately wanting a child and the preferred ways of doing it. Wouldn’t really call it a trend.

Well if that’s true then it’s awful.

I'm watching Paris in Love season 2 that starts with the secret surrogacy of the first baby. It's all so weird. She seems to think dogs and human babies are equal and both are just something to dress up. Also she keeps leaving the baby for work commitments saying she can't be seen to cancel or turn down work as people may get suspicious.

She's meant to have desperately wanted the little boy, she has zero money issues unlike many women. So why leave a tiny baby who is days/weeks old.

According to the PR tour she is on now her new baby was born in October or November and again she's working and is away from the baby.

I'm a working parent I do not judge needing to work. But I've never met a women who with financial resources would choose to leave babies that are days or weeks old.

I can't help but think a baby is just an accessory like what she keeps in her separate handbag room, shoe room or sunglasses room

DontBeAPrickDarren · 08/12/2023 08:13

A real life Veruca Salt? Saw everyone else was having surrogate babies and had to get one (or two).

I agree with this sentiment. Have two at one time, despite meaning that you’ll have 2 tiny babies close together, the baby reveal to the mother being on her show etc etc - all feels like it’s a thing not a human!

I have a lot of sympathy for Paris Hilton for what she went through as a child and the work she has done around that to raise awareness of the abuses of children at those horrible camps. However that doesn’t mitigate her actions now, which are in my opinion equally harmful. I guess in 20-30 years time maybe we will see her children on their own show sharing their perspective on their childhood.

Because Paris leds a multimillion dollar beauty empire that has made her rich, she’s got some important commitments to keep that empire going, her priorities sound very clear, being a stay at home mum is not one. Because she’s a woman she’ll get shed to tears, but if she were a man nobody would blink an eye regarding “dad going on an important business trip when the baby is a few months old”.

The misogyny is quite.

yes fathers should be held to the same standard to. If you pay to have use of a woman’s body to create a baby who will be removed from the person who bore them (by design), then as a minimum you should make sure that baby has at least one parent who is going to prioritise their needs. Otherwise it’s just seems pointless. Why pay to have a baby Sony or can pay a nanny to look after them?

I have no insider information so i ignore París family arrangements and if her husband stays at home or not while she’s on tour.

LadyBird1973 · 14/12/2023 09:39

I'm sure Paris Hilton's empire can survive without her for a bit!
It's not like the timing of this baby was a surprise - perhaps she ought to have re arranged her business affairs to prioritise spending time with the newborn she's just acquired!

Most mums would not leave a very small baby - they would either reschedule their commitments or take the baby with them. Particularly when they can afford paid help.

Why should she have to re-arrange her businesses? Maybe it’s her husband’s job to re-arrange his.

LadyBird1973 · 14/12/2023 13:42

@beatrix1234, She should want to! If work is more of a priority than learning to bond with and care for the new baby, particularly when there hasn't been bond able to develop as happens in pregnancy, then the 'parent' has no business having a baby at all! Her husband should want to do these things too, but PH is the one giving interviews about how she has barely changed a nappy etc.

Tempnamechng · 14/12/2023 13:50

Dogs and cats aren't allowed to be sold before they are 8 weeks old because that time with their mother is so important. Its a shame trafficked human babies, or surrogate babies if you prefer the term, aren't treated as fairly.

Great point 12 weeks for tiny dog breeds

I think her husband sucks too BUT it appears he's on zoom calls in the house whereas it's signposted that Paris is NOT there and she moans she wants to be yet did not free up her diary. Bizarre

stealtheatingtunnocks · 14/12/2023 15:11

I worry that these children will be treated poorly if they turn out to be not what the purchasing parents ordered.

that baby boy has an unusually large head, if it turns out that is a symptom of something then what happens? She bought a product, if he is not quite what she wanted and she has not spent enough time to bond with him then who advocates for him?

I just see cruelty, I really do.

theconfidenceofwho · 14/12/2023 15:16

Totally agree @stealtheatingtunnocks - it's horrendous & only centres the adult's wants, not the child's needs.

PaperSn0wAGhOst · 14/12/2023 21:40

She always puts hats on him now @stealtheatingtunnocks

stealtheatingtunnocks · 14/12/2023 21:48

I noticed that @PaperSn0wAGhOst.

if an A lister’s bought baby has extra needs then maybe it'll lead to an opportunity to set up a philanthropic foundation supporting a particular condition. That could become a thing in Hello “my baby is so special that I created a research project and look at the cure I gift the world”

maybe.

CurlewKate · 01/12/2023 21:57

@Mumtobabyhavoc I have been a feminist for nearly 60 years. I am not going to say that something is right just because a woman does it. And yes, I will judge women who exploit other women. In most cases of surrogacy a woman is being exploited.

Again, bs. Doesn't sound feminist to me. But, we can have different opinions, can't we?

CurlewKate · 17/12/2023 21:23

@Mumtobabyhavoc "Again, bs. Doesn't sound feminist to me. But, we can have different opinions, can't we?"

Some things aren't opinions.

beatrix1234 · 17/12/2023 22:03

I remember Paris Hilton first reality show "the simple life" when she was playing the young ditzy rich blond, in one of the scenes she grabbed a mop and asked how to use it because apparently she had never mopped in her life before, turned out to be total BS as Paris had been made to mop floors for years while forced in that boarding school for difficult children in Utah, aka: she knew perfectly how to work a mop. Paris is great at making us think she's a airhead rich blond who is not in touch with reality and lives in some sort of privileged elite bubble, she's made a million dollar empire by doing this. She's everything but a ditzy silly blond, she's a cold, calculating very business savvy woman who has fooled us all. I believe the "I've never changed my baby's diaper" is a very similar statement to "I've never used a mop". It's a reality show people, she's playing a role, she wants us to talk about her and knows how to press our buttons, it's all marketing and she's excellent at it.

beatrix1234 · 17/12/2023 22:07

I just love how everyone here is believing what is a very scripted reality show meant to outrage and have us talk about her (that includes the daily fail). She must be giggling with delight as I type this while watching her billion dollar cosmetic empire grow.
