Thanks Duncin.

How is it going with that pledge 'growing the economy'?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-67370315
However, a stronger September meant the economy showed zero growth, according to the Office for National Statistics.

Official figures show the economy failed to grow but it was better than downbeat expectations.

It wasn't a pledge it was a dream of what he'd do if the blob didn't keep scuppering his plans.

pointythings · 10/11/2023 08:54

Not looking good for those 5 pledges, is it?

I am quite looking forward to Suella leading the Tories post GE. It will keep the moderate majority from voting for them again. The Tory base are beyond redemption, but they aren't a majority of the electorate.

Roussette · 10/11/2023 09:08

Thanks for new thread!

Who actually likes Suella people either are don't care or dislike her
Football Boys, Tommy Robinson, EDL being the exception of course

Have they all had an AI chip implanted?

From the previous thread

Surely that is pretty appropriate on Remembrance weekend?

It is. But not in the eyes of the EDL who like to glom onto anything to do with the armed forces/poppies/remembrance. This time they have the backing of the Home Secretary, which must be tremendously exciting for them.

The trouble is, though, that it makes their little brains hurt when they realise that it means supporting someone brown, and a woman at that. Still, nothing that a bit of gratuitous violence and vandalism won't sort out, I expect.

I saw a poll saying her personal popularity rating is at 16%. I don't think she's quite the vote winner she and the right wing would like to believe.

I can't bear it when they start their response with "Look...". JRM does it all the time. It's so patronising. Or maybe it's just me, translating "Look..." as "Don't ask me silly questions you pleb, I'll answer with whatever I like".

Still strikes me as depressingly high.
