"This was 10.35am on Whitehall. (I’m out reporting on the whole day for @TheAtlantic)

In my view, the police let these protesters charge and break through the line because it ended up with them further away from the Cenotaph."

If this correct then the police did the right thing.

Not the demographic I was expecting on a pro Palestine ceasefire march?

mandydandy · 11/11/2023 12:35

That is hilarious!

newnamethanks · 11/11/2023 12:48

Suella's BNP boot boys are fighting with our left wing police at the Cenotaph. Edifying.

RafaistheKingofClay · 11/11/2023 12:49

I believe Robinson has led them off to Chinatown now before legging it in a taxi to leave them to it.

I wonder what could make them choose that area of London.

mandydandy · 11/11/2023 12:54

The government are an absolute shit show. It is like they keep pushing to see how bad they can be. I feel like they have zero respect for ordinary people.

fuzzystar · 11/11/2023 13:00

I have no idea what's going on why are Tommy Robinsons lot there

Trying to outdo Braverman in the cruelty stakes

https://inews.co.uk/news/robert-jenrick-stops-charity-asylum-seekers-clothes-legal-help-migrant-centres-2743912

Robert Jenrick has blocked a charity from supporting asylum seekers staying in Home Office accommodation

@Care4Calais has been blocked from entering an asylum seeker accommodation site to give haircuts, clothes and shoes

Just trying to remind us that they really, truly are the nasty party

Good excuse for a fight I’d assume.

I understand the marches are about having a ceasefire between Isreal and Palestine.

So why are there people there shouting about England?

Sometimes people don't get @jgw1

Most of the supporters aligned with the man whose parents called him Stephen Yaxley-Lennon are probably anti-Semitic no doubt, and certainly no friends of Israel.

Piggywaspushed · 11/11/2023 14:10

Actually his birth name is simply Stephen Yaxley...

Thomas Lennon was his stepfather.

Gloriously · 11/11/2023 14:20

Factions of the Tory party are probably lining up Braverman as Party Leader in Opposition because they know they will lose and they need a vile, vicious attack dog whilst in opposition that knows no bounds. She’s perfect for the job - head and shoulders above any other candidate.

Sunak knows this and is leaving her in place as she will in the interim do the whipping up of the fear of ignorant base with her populist rantings which will minimise the extent of their election loss.

Piggywaspushed · 11/11/2023 15:59

Wait, they removed the Tommy Robinson thread?

But not a post I reported for homophobia last week or one today for racism. Huh.

It depends somewhat I think on who is working at MNHQ at the time I think.

Notonthestairs · 11/11/2023 16:32

National trust elections have voted in the recommended candidates - two green fingers to Tufton Street & Restore Trust.

Well it's possibly reasonable to think that, but they have just removed a thread which quite popular and was discussing the Nutella Witch. It was as clickbaity as you can imagine but didn't really cross any red lines as far as I can see,

Piggywaspushed · 11/11/2023 16:46

I just think the mods don't see things as I see them. This does concern me. Frequently.

Just as yours are on an allegedly non political board mine were on Telly Addicts!

And just to remind everyone how great the Home Office us:

I never cease to be dismayed.

newnamethanks · 11/11/2023 17:15

Suella's Thugs are warming up nicely. I would never have foreseen the far right coming out to defend Israel and to support a Home Secretary of Asian origin. Their poor twisted senses, no wonder they're a bit muddled. Still, never mind, any excuse for a punch up.
