I’m so miserable here.

The job requires me being in two different places at once (today it was three).

I’m totally unsupported.

The person who works below me hangs around outside smoking for most of the day.

My job is largely dependent on other people doing things, if they don’t do it I can’t do my job, but I get moaned at if it’s not done.

Everyone says my name wrong.

It’s just awful. Been here three hours and I’ve already cried.

So, once my day is over I’m emailing that I won’t be coming back.

Any tips?

@rainbowstardrops

Yes, I’m team leader/head of department.

I wonder if we work for the same company.

Ask if it begins with a B. Maybe we can console each other.

YAY!!!!! So happy for you. Celebrate tonight 😊

I may just sleep for two days.

I’ve been so stressed. My fingers are raw from picking at them and I have hives all over my chest.

Well done for getting through the last week. Enjoy the next few days x

Bollockypiddle · 17/10/2023 17:46

Amazing to have kept going!

Rest then celebrate!!

GoingToBeLessRubbishAtLife · 17/10/2023 18:50

Just reading this has made me feel anxious. Well done for getting through it. You never ever have to go back there again, or work with these people!

Selfishlazyme · 17/10/2023 19:34

So glad it’s over for you OP - it’s a shame that’s the residents have lost you.
This thread has been MN at its best.

Hamstermayhem · 17/10/2023 22:31

Woohoo-you made it-well done. Now have a lovely rest until you start your new job. 🥳😄

MaidOfSteel · 17/10/2023 23:03

You did it, OP! Now relax!

rainbowstardrops · 18/10/2023 06:53

Well done @TheLightSideOfTheMoon!

The care home that she used to work in began with a B! But that was the name of the home not the company that owned it.
The home she's at now isn't any better!

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 23/10/2023 09:03

I’m coming out of the other side of this now.

From Wednesday I was unwell and have pretty much been in bed since. Lots of sleeping, had a savage period (it was late and never usually that bad), lots of headaches and generally feeling shite.

I think I’m through the tunnel now, hoping my MH heals from now.

The whole thing feels like a fever dream. It really doesn’t feel real.

Thanks for updating. It took a lot to hold it together that last week, I’m not surprised you fell ill. It’s over, enjoy the rest before you start your new job and take some time to enjoy yourself.

Bollockypiddle · 23/10/2023 10:55

Cross for you that it had such an impact on your mental health. Sadly I guess that's what comes with having integrity, ethical standards and a moral conscience sometimes!

I do hope you get news from your new post soon and can plan dome nice things before you start. Take care and go easy on yourself 🙂

IncognitoMam · 23/10/2023 11:31

Really hope you feel better soon 💕

fragglegaggle · 25/10/2023 08:53

@TheLightSideOfTheMoon Hi OP, how are you feeling now. I was on your last thread regarding your job. I hope your anxiety is not affecting you too much. It does take time so take care of yourself.

FloydPepper · 25/10/2023 09:49

Just wanted to comment and say firstly I hope you’re doing ok now, and secondly well done for doing the right thing.

actually 2 right things. Firstly the decision to look after your own health and leave. And secondly to do so in a professional way.

lots of people calling for you to just walk out, mid shift, No communication with anyone. That’s very poor advice and whilst going off sick would also have been the right thing, there is a way to do these things.

well done OP, and I hope your new job goes well

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 01/11/2023 12:13

So, I start my new job on Monday!

Squeeeeee!!

JFDIYOLO · 01/11/2023 12:24

Enjoy this week and have a great Monday 🤗

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 01/11/2023 12:33

I intend to.

Am currently rewatching Grey’s Anatomy in bed while drinking tea.

And I just bought a new dress with dinosaurs on. New job is with children and I wish to make a good impression.

Lose10kyesterday · 01/11/2023 14:16

Congratulations and good luck for Monday! Hope the dinosaurs do their job!

BubblesWoo · 01/11/2023 14:55

Was is Barchester by any chance? My friend was a head of department for a while and left after two months for pretty much the same reasons as you!!

Glad you’re out and congratulations on the new job!

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 01/11/2023 16:23

Yes, it was the above company.

Gutted someone else went through the same thing, it’s a seriously horrible feeling.

Is she on MN? Might be therapeutic for us to compare notes…
