Got new teeth....need honest opinions please

Hi there,

My first post on MN but really hoping to get some opinions.

Due to teeth loss (long story) I have paid privately to get a dental bridge - incisors and 2 front teeth. I had the bridge fitted on Monday. The intention is that this lasts 1-2 years while I have treatment for bone loss before implants are done.

I had very gappy and uneven top front teeth prior to this so I knew I'd take a while to adjust but I'm so disappointed with the look I've achieved.

I just feel the teeth look too big and because of how straight they are, look false. My family and friends keep reassuring me that they look good but if I'm honest, I don't know if I believe them!

I feel I need opinions from people who dont know me. Please be kind with comments but of course honest too. I have a follow up meeting on Monday and it will help me decide what to do.

Thank you

They look fine, IMO.

Janedoe82 · 15/09/2023 12:50

They are nice.

TokyoSushi · 15/09/2023 12:51

Yes agree that they look fine, maybe it's just that you need to get used to the change.

They look good.
It’ll be because you’re not used to seeing them. Give it a month and they’ll just look like yours!

CharlotteRose90 · 15/09/2023 12:51

I mean if you want an honest opinion then yes they look lovely but it’s obvious they’re false or you’ve had work done. Aslong as you are happy it shouldn’t matter at all.

LetUsPounce · 15/09/2023 12:51

They look great!

WhisperingHi · 15/09/2023 12:51

I think they look great, honestly.

Obviously naturally people tend to have wonks and stains, but I genuinely think they look good and fit your face well.

Monkeytapper · 15/09/2023 12:52

They look good, but as you have pointed out the front 2 teeth do look quite wide.

Summerslimtime · 15/09/2023 12:52

Have you got a before picture?

I think they look nice, but can't see how different they are to what you had before, which is probably the main issue.

Your teeth are what people pay thousands for!

Saturdaygirl01 · 15/09/2023 12:52

They’re lovely and white. They do look like you’ve had them ‘done’ and they are very big. You might just need to get used to them?

Wishitsnows · 15/09/2023 12:52

They look great

Cornettoninja · 15/09/2023 12:52

I think they look fine. The size of them doesn’t look odd with your face. They are very white, but that’s not particularly notable these days.

you look a million times better than the average instagrammer with proper tombstones!

can you close your lips comfortably?

WhisperingHi · 15/09/2023 12:53

Remember though, fake teeth aren't uncommon now for fashion, so at least if people think they're fake, they'll just assume you've had a celebrity treatment 😊

SnapdragonToadflax · 15/09/2023 12:53

I think they do look a bit too big for your mouth. Are they bigger than before, did they match them to the size of your natural teeth? Where did you get the work done?

TomatoSandwiches · 15/09/2023 12:53

I am horribly honest trust me when I say these look fine please don't worry.

eatdrinkandbemerry · 15/09/2023 12:53

They look nice but being honest I think they are a little too white that's what makes them look false.
Half the population are walking around with either missing teeth or teeth even whiter than yours so I'd be pleased with them x

Creepybookworm · 15/09/2023 12:53

I don't think they look false. I might think you had veneers but that's not the same thing. I have veneers and a bridge and will need implants at some point so I am not talking from the point of view of someone who doesn't understand. You look good.

vinoandbrie · 15/09/2023 12:53

They are lovely - perfect teeth!

Summerslimtime · 15/09/2023 12:54

If anyone says anything, I'd just say they're your own teeth, but you had them whitened.

CissOff · 15/09/2023 12:54

They are fine but I do agree that they are a bit too big for your face/mouth and unnaturally white and straight.

Not that this is necessarily a bad thing but you can tell they aren’t your own.

StanleyGoodspeed · 15/09/2023 12:54

They do not look horrendous but obviously fake

LNY1986 · 15/09/2023 12:55

They do look a bit wide but they look fine for your face shape.

I think you just need to get used to them 😊

HungryWisdom · 15/09/2023 12:55

They look like veneers. Which are very fashionable now. They are a little on the bigger side but people do have all sizes of teeth so 🤷‍♀️

I honestly wouldn’t look twice if I saw you out & about (in a kind way!)

I can’t decide - can you show a photo smiling where we can see the top gums / top of the teeth?

Choux · 15/09/2023 12:57

They look great. I would say if I met you for the first time that they were probably not natural but so what? Plenty of people have false lashes, nails, brows, noses, breasts, wear make up, get tattoos, piercings, express themselves with fashion etc.

Do they impact you closing your mouth or sleeping? If not they are not medically too big. You are not used to seeing a row of lovely white teeth which is why they seem odd to you at the moment.

As you will only have these for 1-2 years see it as an opportunity to figure out before you get the expensive implants if you would prefer a few more natural features in your permanent teeth eg less white or some slight imperfections etc. After all the implants will be in your mouth for decades.
