Got new teeth....need honest opinions please

Hi there,

My first post on MN but really hoping to get some opinions.

Due to teeth loss (long story) I have paid privately to get a dental bridge - incisors and 2 front teeth. I had the bridge fitted on Monday. The intention is that this lasts 1-2 years while I have treatment for bone loss before implants are done.

I had very gappy and uneven top front teeth prior to this so I knew I'd take a while to adjust but I'm so disappointed with the look I've achieved.

I just feel the teeth look too big and because of how straight they are, look false. My family and friends keep reassuring me that they look good but if I'm honest, I don't know if I believe them!

I feel I need opinions from people who dont know me. Please be kind with comments but of course honest too. I have a follow up meeting on Monday and it will help me decide what to do.

Thank you

People who are saying they look big.....you would have to know what the original teeth looked like to know that.

WhatDoWeDoIfAnything · 15/09/2023 12:57

They are ok as temporary. They are obviously done but what are the alternatives?

Saturdaygirl01 · 15/09/2023 12:59

Can you close your mouth normally and eat and sleep normally as they are?

Look fab - how much was it?

CiderJolly · 15/09/2023 13:02

I agree with you, they do look nice but to my eye they are slightly too large

WeWereInParis · 15/09/2023 13:02

No, I don't think they look false. I think they look like you've had something done to them though - straightened, whitened and bonding for example. But there's nothing wrong with that.

Whataretalkingabout · 15/09/2023 13:03

I find people here terribly insensitive. It is like throwing stones. Who has the right to be highly critical of this woman's teeth? What do your own teeth look like? Noone is going to really notice in everyday life. It is noone's business to comment, even if she did ask, and I would encourage you, OP to disregard all of the comments.
Only your own opinion really matters. Surely they look better than before? You may be uncomfortable for a while until you get used to them. I would be very pleased in your place. Smile.

They look beautiful. I’d like my teeth to look like that!

AbsoluteYawns · 15/09/2023 13:05

They look absolutely fine OP
You have a very nice face too.
Don't be worried, smile big and be happy!

Shelleywelley77 · 15/09/2023 13:06

This was the morning before - you can see it was a big gap to fill.
Can't believe I'm posting these on here 🤯

Vary honestly, you look fantastic!

Malificent1 · 15/09/2023 13:09

They look lovely! And actually follow the shape of your real teeth perfectly. I think they look good. It an obvious you’ve had dental work, but good dental work.

marymungoNminge · 15/09/2023 13:09

As you wanted opinions that are honest, I think they're way too big for your mouth.

Lovely colour and straightness, but the teeth are so wide.

Summerslimtime · 15/09/2023 13:10

It's a big change, op, but they'll look normal to you in no time 😊

TheFormidableMrsC · 15/09/2023 13:12

Absolutely lovely!

NewbieSM · 15/09/2023 13:12

Being honest, yes they look fake, too straight and too white so noticeably 'done'. But fake doesn't necessarily mean they look bad. As you said they are temporary and will take some getting used too. If they are functional and pain free that's the main thing

SmileyClare · 15/09/2023 13:12

You look great and have a beautiful mouth and lips. I’d love my teeth to be that white.

The worst thing to do is try to cover them and keep your mouth closed when interacting with people.

I’m guessing they’re a vast improvement on your previous gappy uneven teeth but like any new change it’ll take time to adjust and you’ll feel awkward for a while!

I feel embarrassed even when I’ve had a different haircut and walk into work for the first time. Your teeth will soon feel like part of you.

Please don’t feel self conscious- practice smiling proudly at everyone you meet today 😬

Saturdaygirl01 · 15/09/2023 13:13

When you say the comments will help you decide what to do, what do you mean? Is there an option to change them in any way?

Universitynewbie · 15/09/2023 13:13

They look great and are a good size when you look ar the natural size of yout teeth in the other photo

PearlsaSwinger · 15/09/2023 13:14

I think they look great, not too big and just look looked after if that makes sense. Get out there and start beaming!

Fartughtyred · 15/09/2023 13:15

I think they look great and having seen the ´before´ pic, a big improvement. Smile with confidence!

StrawberryFizz27 · 15/09/2023 13:15

They look lovely!
