Got new teeth....need honest opinions please

Hi there,

My first post on MN but really hoping to get some opinions.

Due to teeth loss (long story) I have paid privately to get a dental bridge - incisors and 2 front teeth. I had the bridge fitted on Monday. The intention is that this lasts 1-2 years while I have treatment for bone loss before implants are done.

I had very gappy and uneven top front teeth prior to this so I knew I'd take a while to adjust but I'm so disappointed with the look I've achieved.

I just feel the teeth look too big and because of how straight they are, look false. My family and friends keep reassuring me that they look good but if I'm honest, I don't know if I believe them!

I feel I need opinions from people who dont know me. Please be kind with comments but of course honest too. I have a follow up meeting on Monday and it will help me decide what to do.

Thank you

I think they look good but if I was to nit pick I would say they are slightly to big/bulky and a touch to white, also I think natural teeth have more defined gaps / joints between teeth.
will the white stain a bit over time

soberfabulous · 15/09/2023 16:25

I love them!!!

Just a bit obviously white but otherwise fine.

You have lovely skin btw.

clarepetal · 15/09/2023 16:29

They look great, and I wouldn't think they are false at all.

Nik2879 · 15/09/2023 16:31

They look nice I would say they do look a little bit wide though. I’m sure you’re paying a lot of money so don’t be worried about telling the dentist if you’re not happy.

whatamess100 · 15/09/2023 16:34

They look fab, they are bright white but ive seen brighter on celebrities

LoseLooseLucy · 15/09/2023 16:34

Look great, I’d love some, my teeth are wrecked after my last pregnancy.

housethatbuiltme · 15/09/2023 16:34

I mean they do look 'fake' (Hollywood smile type) but thats in fashion now, people pay a lot for that look.

Paynefully · 15/09/2023 16:36

I personally think they are too white, too straight, too big and too long. They look a bit ‘horsey’ but only a little bit. If you have the opportunity to have adjustments done then I would ask for slightly smaller teeth and a shade or two down.

A good way of telling I’d you’ve overdone your teeth is by taking a natural smile photo and seeing if your teeth are the very first thing you notice or look at, if so they’re too much.

on a more positive note it must feel so good having new teeth!

caramac04 · 15/09/2023 16:37

They look great. I imagine that’s how your own teeth should look given your jawlIne and face shape. I bet you’ll love them once you’re used to them.

WonderingWanda · 15/09/2023 17:09

I think they look great! I have horrid crowded and wonky teeth and hate my smile because it's too small.

vanillapods · 15/09/2023 17:10

They look fabulous x

Annaishere · 15/09/2023 17:19

They’re nice but yes honestly look a little big

CreationNat1on · 15/09/2023 17:24

They are very nice. I agree just a smidgen on the large side, but I think the dentist did a fantastic job, and I think they are a massive improvement on the before photo. Maybe the dentist needed to make them that size and length to bridge the gap and disguise any other issues. I ld say they score 95% on the tooth test, so that's a great result.

Cinateel · 15/09/2023 17:26

If I were you I'd be thrilled with them!

BeMoreBarbie · 15/09/2023 18:17

They look spot on! Go you!

If I saw you in real life I'd be thinking how lovely they are and how I wish mine were the same.

CriticalAlert · 15/09/2023 18:22

They look stunning! Absolutely brilliant. I'd give various parts of my body for teeth like yours. Enjoy them. I have shite teeth. Never went to dentist when I was a kid which resulted in horrific decayed front teeth. When I was 16 a sadist of a dentist ripped the whole lot out and gave me a dental plate....at 16... can you imagine? I saw a dentist 10 years later and she put in a bridge, which wasn't perfect, but a whole lot better than the horrible plate I had. I've still got the same bridge and I'm 69, but obviously my mouth and bone density have changed, so it's all crooked. I can't afford to have any private work done. So madam.... love your teeth. They look great, just perfect, they complement your face. Don't give a damn about the negative comments on here, they're jealous, as am I!! Christ knows what they'd do if they saw my teeth!!! X

Balloonhearts · 15/09/2023 18:29

They look nice honestly. You can tell they aren't entirely natural but I'd just think you'd had them whitened. And now you know that when you have your implants, you want them slightly smaller and less white.

newnamethanks · 15/09/2023 19:24

You look nice OP, I guess they just feel a bit monstrous, I've got one false tooth. When I got it, it felt like a boulder in my mouth, have adjusted now, feels and looks ordinary.

Romiii · 15/09/2023 19:28

If you don’t want those teeth, can I have them!

Tiespin · 15/09/2023 20:01

They look brilliant. Perfect. Which is wonderful

mrssunshinexxx · 15/09/2023 20:09

They look lovely they will just take some getting used to x

peacock2 · 15/09/2023 20:32

Definitely look great. It was a good decision. I think you just need to get used to the change.

pilates · 15/09/2023 20:32

Very nice and white
