Got new teeth....need honest opinions please

Hi there,

My first post on MN but really hoping to get some opinions.

Due to teeth loss (long story) I have paid privately to get a dental bridge - incisors and 2 front teeth. I had the bridge fitted on Monday. The intention is that this lasts 1-2 years while I have treatment for bone loss before implants are done.

I had very gappy and uneven top front teeth prior to this so I knew I'd take a while to adjust but I'm so disappointed with the look I've achieved.

I just feel the teeth look too big and because of how straight they are, look false. My family and friends keep reassuring me that they look good but if I'm honest, I don't know if I believe them!

I feel I need opinions from people who dont know me. Please be kind with comments but of course honest too. I have a follow up meeting on Monday and it will help me decide what to do.

Thank you

I think they look really good.

mrswhiplington · 15/09/2023 14:01

I honestly think they look great.

TickleMyPickle · 15/09/2023 14:05

They look great, honestly.
I have veneers on my front top teeth after an accident as a child. I recently had them replaced ( after having originals for 20 odd years) and they made them smaller and more “ feminine” than my original ones and it took me a few weeks to get used to them.

They look great. My teeth are similar to your before picture and my front gap has got bigger due to teeth movement and gum disease. I’ve started a course of treatment and hopefully will have a new smile like yours by the end of it.

LittleObe · 15/09/2023 14:12

They look normal but yes they are big. Most bridges are.

FictionalCharacter · 15/09/2023 14:16

I think they look lovely. You just look like someone who has had their teeth whitened.

Gjendefloooo · 15/09/2023 14:23

They look good.
I saw the title and though fuck no, not someone who has gone to Turkey for Turkey teeth and had them all filed down.

I think you just aren't used to not having the gap there and they are very white. I think you will get used to them after time. It's just because it's a big difference to before.

If you are going to have implants fitted later you can discuss maybe having a shade less white, or a more natural look (ie. tiny imperfections rather than everything absolutely perfectly straight). That's not to say I don't think your teeth look good - they do - I just mean if you aren't quite happy with the look it's something to bear in mind when discussing what the implanted teeth will look like.

justthecat · 15/09/2023 14:35

Look great you've just got to give it time to get used to them and I bet it won't take long

TheRealHousewife · 15/09/2023 14:36

I think they look amazing. Beautiful teeth😍

MyDogSmellsTerrible · 15/09/2023 14:39

They look fabulous. As do you.

🤍

ISeeARedDoorAndIWantToBreakIn · 15/09/2023 14:39

I think they look lovely and I wouldn’t have known they weren’t “real” if you hadn’t mentioned it. They look like you’ve always had good teeth but now you’ve had them whitened.

WmFnKdSg1234 · 15/09/2023 14:50

They look really lovely 😍. Like you one of the lucky people with great teeth. They sit well in your face. They don't draw the eye away from your lovely face. I think they've done a great job.

Perhaps because you know how your teeth were before you arecomparing these unfavourably?

Taketurn · 15/09/2023 14:50

marymungoNminge · 15/09/2023 13:09

As you wanted opinions that are honest, I think they're way too big for your mouth.

Lovely colour and straightness, but the teeth are so wide.

Honestly this was my first thought. Really white and straight though.

Samcro · 15/09/2023 14:52

they look really nice. i didn't read your whole post before looking at the photo. so thought you had just had yours straightened. I would be so happy.

Whatthefuck3456 · 15/09/2023 14:57

I think they look lovely! Your skin is lovely to, you look beautiful!

Nutterjacks · 15/09/2023 15:24

DP had similar treatment. His original teeth were much smaller, more like children's teeth, so it was a bit of a shock at first. Now we're used to them, they look completely natural and are a great improvement.

I can guarantee you will get used to them.

Jowak1 · 15/09/2023 15:25

You look lovely 😊

DrFoxtrot · 15/09/2023 15:27

They look lovely OP, like you've had work done, so not entirely natural, but they look great.

I can't understand PP saying the teeth look too big/wide - they look the size they're supposed to be. Any smaller and you'd look strange I think.

fabmaccawhackythumbsaloft · 15/09/2023 15:28

The new teeth are lovely and actually the look makes you look younger

I'd be very pleased

RisingSunn · 15/09/2023 15:28

Yes they look “done” but they look great!

PurpleMonkeys · 15/09/2023 15:28

They look fantastic.
What a good looking woman you are.

Silkiebunny · 15/09/2023 15:30

I think they look great, a bit fake, but perfect.

Querypost · 15/09/2023 15:32

Fartughtyred · 15/09/2023 13:15

I think they look great and having seen the ´before´ pic, a big improvement. Smile with confidence!

This! :-)

SurprisedWithAHorse · 15/09/2023 15:32

You're very pretty and the teeth don't leap out or anything. But given they can be changed, yes, I think slightly smaller would suit you more. If I didn't know anything about them, I wouldn't think they were false teeth or too big, but I would definitely think you'd whitened them.

Never expected so many comments, really appreciated. I needed to hear other peoples honest opinions. No one has been unkind.

I did have big teeth naturally and with the large gap I guess it's been difficult not to make them large.

My dentist is lovely and he could see I was a bit upset and shocked on Monday when he did the 'reveal'. In terms of fixing, he suggested that as its temp material, very slight adjustments might be possible ag no extra cost.

Looking at your natural teeth, your gap is v cute !
The new teeth have been made a bit wider than your own teeth, to fill the gap, so they are slightly big but not v noticeably. I would ask for that to be amended when you have the permanent ones, but for now they look even and bright and v nice.
