People your DCs have renamed

My DD, almost 4, met a little boy today at holiday club named 'Feelings'.
She chatted about him all the way home - what she played with Feelings, what Feelings said, etc.
After some confusion I worked out that her new friend's name was in fact FELIX.
Has anyone else had a child rename a friend like this?!

I made the same mistake with a girl called “Anne Harrod”. She’s actually Angharad.

My young 'Thomas & Friends' obsessed DS kept calling my niece/his cousin Skarloey

Her name is Scarlett

My DSis really hated it though... "Why does he keep calling her that?! That's not her name, it's stupid, tell him to stop it!"

He was only 2.5 yrs old at the time and was struggling with his speech development (diagnosed with a neurodiverse disorder later on), but he knew the names and pronunciations of every single train on Thomas & Friends. He just couldn't pronounce Scarlett without it inadvertently turning into the name of this train on his beloved tv program.

We still giggle about it in private, because it was a cute time in my DSs life where nothing came out as it was supposed to, and he essentially developed his own little way of communicating for a while. But Dsis was never impressed.

I called my grandmother Gaga as I couldn’t pronounce Grandma, and DS and DD caked my Dad Yahyah for the same reason - and so they were christened forever!
