My DD, almost 4, met a little boy today at holiday club named 'Feelings'.
She chatted about him all the way home - what she played with Feelings, what Feelings said, etc.
After some confusion I worked out that her new friend's name was in fact FELIX.
Has anyone else had a child rename a friend like this?!

My friend's child told her that there was a boy called Meetoo in her nursery. Turned out that on the first day, one boy said "I'm x" and this boy then said "me too!" and all the other kids thought that was then his name Grin

Love this. Is he still referred to as Me Too?

I knew twins growing up whose names were combined.

ie. Marcus and Barry became Barcus
(not actual names).

ds2 spoke of a boy at nursery called "weed" - we never even questioned it....kid was called "reid"

My daughter told me about a girl named Arthur at school... I asked if it was Martha, but she was very indignant and adamant it was Arthur. Until someone heard her refer to Martha as Arthur and gently corrected her!

For ages he insisted his baby brother was called "Spot" instead of "Scott".

"Ruby Ring" for a girl called "Ruby".

"Boney" for a boy called "Bodhi".

DS had a girl called Chisel in his class - Giselle, to her parents.

There were lots of Isabel/Isobel/Isabellas as well, including an Ysabella who was always known as Isabella Withawhy.

And they were taught by Mrs Eyeball (Glasspool) and Miss Stocking (Mrs Docking).

My little sister aged 1 could not get her tongue around our new baby sister's name Christine, so called her Kiteen - it stuck and for ever after she was known as Kit. No-one ever used her real name.

UrsulaBelle · 28/08/2023 17:53

There was a playgroup leader called Mrs Sparkly by all the children. Mrs Barclay. 🪄

The TA was Mrs Shorts - Mrs Shaw.

I made a new friend aged 5 called Goy, to rhyme with toy. Yes, he was Guy with a Bristolian accent.

'Are you sure your mum didn't say Iris?'
To be fair it was around 4am!
