What are your most remembered threads or posters ?

I know this has been done before but I'm bored shitless.

EMIN and the thread about the drug withdrawal baby she fostered - I think she called her Ladybird?

Such an inspirational lady and the thread had me blubbing every time. I think it's in Classics somewhere.

PuppyMcPupFace · 23/07/2023 18:21

An amazing poster called WhenWillIFeelNormal, incredibly wise about affairs and wrote such a good explanation of passive aggression that I printed it and stuck it on my fridge! This was about fifteen years ago.

The usual Cod, AnyFucker, Raven etc.

fortnumsfinest · 23/07/2023 18:35

Lulumama and RubyTwoShoes were here when I first joined about 18 years ago.
COD obviously
That was back in the day when posters had profiles where they shared photos of their family

eyeoresancerre · 23/07/2023 18:37

I used to always laugh when I read Marmaladetwatkins thread about the school bake sale and her unwanted Rice Krispie cakes. It struck a cord with me at the time and I always wish I'd been brave enough to utter some of the comments made by others on the chat.

Samcro · 23/07/2023 18:38

The first thread I ever read was one where cod was ripping someone apart.
it was in a weird topic that you introduced yourself ( can’t remember what it was called)

SquirrelSoShiny · 23/07/2023 18:40

I've had so many names here but I still remember my antenatal threads here. I sometimes think about the people on them and wonder how they all are ❤

Thefieldisfallow · 23/07/2023 18:41

Lavenderrrrrr was just mad
Kateandthegirls is the one I think of even now

MargaretThursday · 23/07/2023 18:41

The one I remember from my early days was when someone's phone (Chaos??) had gone wrong and was posting randomly as she wrote and several times. There were whole pages along the lines of:

O

Oh

I always found myself on threads that BitOfFun was on. High brow stuff like the live X Factor threads. She was always funny and lovely, and I genuinely felt sad when I heard she'd died.

Snozzlemaid · 23/07/2023 18:42

Misdee and Pink Peter, when he had his transplant.
And Cod of course.

ForeverFriendsAndPierrot · 23/07/2023 18:42

Pixieonaleaf
Reality
Trinity
Norma Stanley
The 'tigga' poster

So many!

AssertiveGertrude · 23/07/2023 18:43

Maybe 19 years ago - single Pringle and mrs lettuce for the style advice come to mind

AssertiveGertrude · 23/07/2023 18:43

10

TheNinthLock · 23/07/2023 18:43

Pink Peter struck a chord when I first joined. I often think of Misdee and her girls and wonder how Peter is doing.
Then there was MileforMaud and the threads about beautiful Billie.

I loved the profiles - MN felt more personal. I made two lovely friends here and we met up in person. Sadly one of them passed from breast cancer.

MorningPaper’s roundups frequently made me chortle.

My dc are now young adults and this all seems a lifetime ago!

MangoJuggler · 23/07/2023 18:44

That poster who had an excess of mangoes, she asked what she could do with them, and, well, SOMEONE said juggle them. Grin

ForeverFriendsAndPierrot · 23/07/2023 18:44

Oh, and Billie

I remember her mum telling us about the chapel that was left standing when the hospital was pulled down. Very sad when she died

Can't remember the poster....just Billie

Bamboozles · 23/07/2023 18:45

Where is Worral nowadays?

Bamboozles · 23/07/2023 18:45

And Sparklingbrook?

EuniceNewtonFoote · 23/07/2023 18:46

I never understood the Cod love.

WWGDD · 23/07/2023 18:46

CatThiefKeith wrote the funniest threads.

MargaretThursday · 23/07/2023 18:50

And then there was the Mitmoo evening. It was not long after I'd arrived and I wasn't quite sure what was happening but it was quite funny as a spectator, I seem to remember it ended with lots of posters changed their name to have Mitmoo in. So I'd have become "MitmooThursday" or similar.
For a while if anyone mentioned Mitmoo the post got deleted, I think.

EuniceNewtonFoote · 23/07/2023 18:46

I never understood the Cod love.

I see her mentioned often . I guess she was popular

Oh I didn’t know BOF had died, I’m so sad to hear that 😞 I drop in & out of MN a lot but remember her from the X Factor live threads - they were always comedy gold.

StGertrude · 23/07/2023 18:55

I miss Crumbs and her middle class nonsense.

WillowintheUK · 23/07/2023 18:55

Looking up Google for something to do with a Victoria Sandwich and I eventually strayed on to a thread about someone (can’t for the life of me remember who) who was wanting advice on entering into a cake competition. It turned into a totally hilarious thread. That would be around 2010 or so. I’d never heard of Mumsnet before.
