What are your most remembered threads or posters ?

I know this has been done before but I'm bored shitless.

I wonder who the OP was back then 🤔

I was attacked by posters alot back in the day. I'm not sure its a good idea to say who I was back then.

Do Mumsnet meet ups still happen? I'd forgotten all about that

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 23/07/2023 20:39

And that New Year’s Eve when they left a new mod in charge who ended up switching the boards off.

That was a proper meltdown.

HaroldMeaker · 23/07/2023 20:41

The first thread I read on here was when the OP had found all her kitchen utensils were disappearing and gradually realised her husband was using them to do rude things with them. I was really astonished I have to say.

SemperIdem · 23/07/2023 20:42

Eatshitderek was an interesting character from the old days.

Everlong was a poster I always found to be incredibly kind

Xenia always got a thread going.

fortnumsfinest · 23/07/2023 20:42

Goodness so many blasts from the past, I recognise a lot of these.
There was a poster Never Google Dragon Butter, I never did

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 23/07/2023 20:43

It was funnier though.

There wasn't any of the hollier that thou my virtue is shinier than yours attitude that's everywhere now.

That's just reminded me. Was there some sort of breach of a mods or posters address and someone tried to break into their home . Some type of hacker. I may have got this very mixed up. It was something along them lines

I think that was Justine getting swatted

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 23/07/2023 20:44

No, that was the Jeffrey thing.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 23/07/2023 20:44

There was that thread about the women who thought she’d accidentally cooked her hamster.

Cutted up Pear was just hilarious.

l used to like Marmaladetwatkins. She was so funny.

It’s a brand of Welsh butter you can quite safely google.

There’s an urban dictionary alternative meaning that may or may not have existed prior to the brand but that is almost certainly what influenced the username mentioned. It is 🤮

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 23/07/2023 20:46

The first thread that made me properly laugh was from someone who'd dropped her knickers in next door's garden and was proper fretting about it.

penelopepipsqueak · 23/07/2023 20:48

The solidarity used to be so nice . That's gone now .

I've been here since 2007 , but it is a very different place now . Im so sick of getting flamed I name change every week .

TheFairyCaravan · 23/07/2023 20:49

I loved the XFactor threads. I only used to watch it so I could join in. We’d be laughing away for weeks when, without fail, someone would come along and tell us we were awful which just encouraged us even more.

BOF was the best. She was taken far too soon, as was NormaStanley. I see memories of them pop up on my Facebook feed and it makes me so sad.

ssd · 23/07/2023 20:51

I miss @sparklingbrook

ssd · 23/07/2023 20:51

Lots of posters on scotsnet too that have left

80sMum · 23/07/2023 20:52

I remember when almost every link was a joke link to a picture of "the bat"! I kept falling for it!

HaroldMeaker · 23/07/2023 20:54

The bat or terry wogan’s cock

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 23/07/2023 20:54

I loved the Friday night drink threads UsualSuspect started. Scoose started one recently, took me right back. NoddyHolder was a prolific poster not around now.

LadyBirdsLoveEm · 23/07/2023 20:54

I remember us all walking a mile for Maude all over the country. I think of her her family from time to time as my eldest was a similar age to Maude.

I never really got the cod love. I always wondered back then how she had time to be constantly posting on Mumsnet. I guess it was for her a bit like how lots of people now are always glued to Facebook!

I miss mumsnet being smaller. There was less name changing and more getting to "know" people from their posts over time.

One year someone sent me a Debenhams token in the Xmas secret Santa and as I was living in a cold damp house and it being a tough year generally, I bought a big fluffy dressing gown with it which I still have.

penelopepipsqueak · 23/07/2023 20:57

We have to remember zombie too

Such genuine kindness- I remember her going to get a poster fleeing dv and putting her up

She was taken too soon . X

Yes this is how I feel.
I have so many name changes now.

penelopepipsqueak · 23/07/2023 20:59

Remember bupcakes

And turnips . There were some brilliant, eloquent, funny funny women on here once !
