What are your most remembered threads or posters ?

I know this has been done before but I'm bored shitless.

I don't remember the posters name but I remember her son, Wilf. She was a prolific poster but I don't think I've seen her around for a while.

There was a poster who fascinated me on a long running relationships thread tears and years ago. She was obviously using it for advice/support/to help her think but early on she said her ex had discovered the thread. She kept updating on the same thread under the same using name, saying what she thought she would do next and why and I’d wonder if her ex was also reading and this was impacting on how he was responding.

I remember a thread where LaQueen dropped some “in the style of” prose at the drop of a hat, was so good.

I never remember usernames because they change so often.

My favourite thread ever was the Sistine Screamer. I genuinely almost peed myself.

I’ve been on her a long time under various names.

The thread that sticks with me was by OpheliaRose I think it was, who’s husband had an affair and left her with young twins. I often thing of her and hope she’s happy now.

FairyFly and her horrible DH who ran off with a student. Posters sent birthday presents to her child. A poster called Blu wrote a hilarious poem based on one of his pompous messages to her.

Mad events. A poster (Tamba?) who ran off with a MN Dad, or something? There were a few affairs that happened!

A certain childcare guru threatening legal action after Morningpaper (?) said they strapped babies to tickets and fired them into space. Or something.

A poster called JudgeFlounce who was unmasked by sleuthing MNers behind the scenes

The first Mn blanket was for a poster called Droile whose child had a tumour.

Soapbox, LittleLapin, MartianBishop, Twiglett, MotherInferior, Beetroot, JimJams, ThomCat, FioFio.

A hilarious thread about a kettle that had gone missing.

I never understood the COD love either.

I joined when shiney and bof were a double act

I was kinder then I think . More meet ups and really knowing people.

I made some friends from here back then . Bof was one . I actually made pals who rang each other and talked in rl.

It doesn't feel the same now .

Some of the threads in ye olden days were hysterically funny and would go on for days. I miss that. I wouldn't brave a MN meet up any more but went to quite a few back then and met some lovely people who I still see/speak to in RL. I miss BitofFun so much. She was truly such a lovely and accomplished person and how she squeezed so much in even when she was really ill amazed me.

All these names bring back so many memories... dd is 18 soon and mn helped diagnose her dairy intolerance, when I was overseas with limited support and a screaming child!!

Still have some of the group for my subsequent DD's on my fb. I miss the style of the mn of old but still enjoy dipping in ....

The only name not mentioned was Xenia but I still think she pops back now and again....always guarantied to stir things up!

I remember Somerville I think it was whose husband had died. She then met Mr Lovely and they did end up getting married and having a baby.

I remember Solid Gold Brass ! She was very funny say it how it is type poster. Think she got banned though.

Morning paper was very funny. And Aitch.

There was someone called FrannyandZooey who would report all the fruit she’d eaten that day, though I never found out why.

I didn’t know that about BOF, how very very sad.

Do you mean Chaos’s toaster, @TakenRoot? That was one of the first threads I really got stuck into.

The thread where Honeydragon and her band of rebels broke Mumsnet by posting on a board while Tech was trying to delete it, and kidnapped RowanMumsnet as a hostage.

And that New Year’s Eve when they left a new mod in charge who ended up switching the boards off.
