Pmk. Thanks Duncin. Brew

L1ttledrummergirl · 26/06/2023 14:17

Thank you @DuncinToffee, great title. We haven't yet reached the rats are abandoning ship, but I don't think it will be long.

Roussette · 26/06/2023 14:31

Thx Dunc!

Sinking sinking sunk!

Blossomtoes · 26/06/2023 14:33

Thank you Duncin.

Cheezecake · 26/06/2023 14:34

We have lost a few rats of late, no?

pointythings · 26/06/2023 14:59

I think we've already lost plenty of 🐀. We're now left with the weird ones who have eaten the radioactive waste from the mad politicians' scientists' labs so they're left sitting in a corner and saying 'wibble' at odd inter.

Sadly some are holding on.

One rat said they were going but turns out they aren't!

Sorry for misnumbering this thread, I can ask MN if they can amend it as suggested by Cornettoninja assuming that doesn’t mess with posts or listings.

@DuncinToffee, I'm not at all worried about the misnumbering (I hadn't even noticed), I'm just glad that you've kept them going.

Notonthestairs · 26/06/2023 16:45

Didn't we have 2x 21 and therefore are on 27 anyway?

Piggywaspushed · 26/06/2023 17:17

Don't worry about the missing number. The current government wouldn't care about missing ££££££s.

Or indeed asylum seeker children. I’ve not heard anything further on reports that unaccompanied children were taken from accommodation and no one seems to know where they are.

it’s chilling to think of what’s going on in the country we live in.

Notonthestairs · 26/06/2023 18:09

The Government will spend £169,000 on every migrant it sends to Rwanda, Home Office economic analysis finds

It suggests that govt would need to deter 37% of all people attempting crossings for there to be any net economic benefit

twitter.com/steven_swinford/status/1673374686137270277?s=46&t=Uw4lJNwxFZFnX0Xs3doHYg

Does this take in to account money all ready sent to the Rwandan government? It was that start up costs?

There is no evidence that any of this will be a deterrent - which is why we haven't seen the impact assessment.

mibbelucieachwell · 26/06/2023 18:20

Aye Cap'n. Holding my nerve Sir.

RafaistheKingofClay · 26/06/2023 18:36

Have we decided how we are even getting them to Rwanda since just about everyone refused to help?

They should ask the asylum seekers. I believe they have connections with people unconcerned about international laws.

DuncinToffee · 26/06/2023 18:50

It would actually be cheaper if migrants did as that brexiteer on BBCQT suggested and go straight to the benefits office on arrival.

Court of Appeal will hand down judgment in the #Rwanda proceedings on Thursday, 29 June. That’s after a 4-day hearing which was heard between 24 April and 27 April.

It will be live streamed so anybody can join and watch🤞

A personal donor to Michael Gove complained to his office that he had received no response to offers to provide PPE, before receiving contracts worth £164 million without competition

twitter.com/paullewismoney/status/1673181621762007043?s=46&t=Uw4lJNwxFZFnX0Xs3doHYg

David Meller originally supplied beauty products but he got in touch with Gove. He knew Gove because he had donated to his fighting fund in the past. He had also previously donated £60,000 to the Conservative Party.
Meller had also previously been a director at think tank Policy Exchange.
He seems to have been very fortunate in that he raised a complaint at the slow response and was given the opportunity to talk direct to Lord Bethel and Lord Feldman who had been charged with getting PPE.

Good grief our systems are riddled with Tory donor network. It is disgraceful.

Quite. I’m not voting anyone ‘in’ as such at the next GE so much as voting out the current crop of Tory sugar donors.
