Just seen this article and had to share - I can't believe the hateful language used by the author:

'High profile people, who I consider transphobic, like some politicians and former role models – who aren’t even worthy of the term ‘TERF’ (meaning trans exclusionary radical feminist) as it has ‘feminist’ in the name, and that they most certainly are not – have made it their mission to stoke a panic over trans people'.

I have no issue with trans women using the loos I'm in - you shouldn't either

Today, I'm sick and frustrated of the obsessive, hateful loud siren voices who act as if they're speaking for all cis women.

Riiight

Fimofriend · 20/06/2023 10:44

I am not giving a "pick-me-girl" the satisfaction of reading her pathetic "not-like-other- girls" manifesto.

Beamur · 20/06/2023 10:51

Yawn.
Take the plank out of own eye first. Such hateful language directed at other women there. Lovely attitude.

Florissante · 20/06/2023 10:53

I can't read the article as I use Ad Blocker and am not willing to turn it off to read tripe.

cocksstrideintheevening · 20/06/2023 10:55

@Florissante I can confirm it is utter tripe.

VaddaABeetch · 20/06/2023 10:58

For those women who say ‘I have no problem, I’m super woke, you’re all ignorant, stupid, transphobic’. I say good for you but my rights are not yours to give away.

KarmaIsMyBF · 20/06/2023 11:00

I haven't read it but personally I'm not bothered about transwomen using the toilets I'm in but I understand other women are and I understand the reasons they don't want to share their space and I think that should be respected.

Why do transwomens wishes and wants come before a woman's wishes and wants when it comes to their private space?

I think M&S in the town I live in has a perfect solution- there's a communal waiting area and all the toilets are separated into one big bathroom basically and there was about 8-10 of them so only one person could use it at any given time or is a third bathroom an option??

Sorry went on a bit of a rant there however women who don't want to share their space shouldn't automatically be labelled as transphobic - it's their go to argument.

caringcarer · 20/06/2023 11:04

These transwomen are in a minority and can't just take what belongs to women ie. their safe places. If they have a penis they belong in the male toilets.

FourTeaFallOut · 20/06/2023 11:05

Ah, another round of parading your luxury beliefs at the expense of other people who absorb the cost. Slow clap.

caringcarer · 20/06/2023 11:06

Also it would be triggering for victims of abuse to see males in female toilets, especially if they are in there alone when the male walks in. Also some religions won't allow their females anywhere near men unchaperoned.

Brokendaughter · 20/06/2023 11:07

I don't care if they don't have a problem.

I have a problem with it & I will never support a business who expect me to share toilets or changing rooms with anybody born male who has left primary school.

They don't speak for me, or anybody (male or female) I know.

Hoppinggreen · 20/06/2023 11:08

Presumably as a Journo she has a thick skin and sounds like the kind of person who has a voice and the confidence to say “oi pervert, put your dick away” if faced by such a scenario in women’s toilets
What about all the women who would be absolutely terrified and traumatised by men in a supposedly women’s only safe space?
So privileged and so stupid

Well put.

Goodnightssleepplease · 20/06/2023 11:17

I don’t speak for all women obviously, I can only say I have no problems with transwomen using the women’s toilets. I have an issue with self ID and the people who do that using the women’s toilets for many reasons including victims of male abuse and/or sexual violence being intimidated.

This photo sums up why that is my position.

The transman is the one I'd have a fighting chance of defending myself from in a scrap.

KohlaParasaurus · 20/06/2023 11:24

Well, lots of women do. I stand with them, even if I have no personal reason to feel anxious about a male, however he presents, peeing in the cubicle next to me.

Abhannmor · 20/06/2023 11:26

I too have no problem with ' transwomen ' using my toilet. But then I'm a bloke. They are perfectly entitled to use the Gents.

forgotmyusername1 · 20/06/2023 11:29

What about muslim women who cannot be in a state of undress in the presence of a man? There are a lot more of them then men in dresses. Seems a rather racist policy to prevent them from accessing womens spaces

It would be much better if all buildings have a proper amount of space to toilets and had them like an M&S I went in the other day. They had four ‘rooms’ each completely solid floor to ceiling walls and doors and the doors were thick. Each room was big enough for a wheelchair or pram and contained a toilet, a sink, a sanitary bin, a fold down baby changing table and an emergency call cord. Then everyone regardless of religion, experiences, sex etc can use a space for whatever they need it for in a dignified and private way.

Lamped · 20/06/2023 11:33

Good for her. I do have a problem with it, as do many women, hence why we are having this debate. It's funny how the GC side are able to discuss their points without resorting to attacks (bigot, terf, transphobic) or relying solely on personal experiences rather than data.

ButImNotOldEnough · 20/06/2023 11:34

Can’t be bothered reading it, why does whoever wrote it think their opinion is worth listening to when they clearly aren’t listening to anyone else’s opinions?

StephanieSuperpowers · 20/06/2023 11:34

I often think these women are like teenagers pushing the boundaries but still expecting the boring old cis women will be there stopping what they're pretending to be fine about from actually happening so they can be super cool and chill without any consequences.

Because boring old cis mummy stopped it all from going too far.

Yogagrandmum · 20/06/2023 11:36

Do they sit down to pee?

mamnotmum · 20/06/2023 11:38

Why can't we just have toilets?! A toilet and sink in a small enclosed room for anyone to use?

This would also help with queuing. The nonsense of queuing for a ladies toilets when the mens is empty is insanity.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 20/06/2023 11:38

Won't be reading that crap. Excuse the pun.
