Holly's Monologue.

Did anyone just watch Holly on This Morning when it started?

All felt very rehearsed and wooden. Josie has obviously been told to take the lead now.

I'm wondering if they will mix & match the presenters going forward, I think that would be a good idea. Then no one becomes complacent and some totally new presenters would be like a breath of fresh air.

I was out shopping, seem I made the better decision.

safetyfreak · 05/06/2023 10:45

She is SO boring

pippanorthwind · 05/06/2023 11:54

I looked out of interest and she came across as insincere and unbelievable.

From what I read on here they should have both gone after the queue jumping debacle.

It was really odd, sounded so unnatural and stilted. I was cringing 😬

The whole show needs a total rethink and rebrand. It’s incredibly boring. It needs to go off air for a few weeks whilst they decide how to do it.

Mommasgotabrandnewbag · 05/06/2023 12:02

I imagine she was shitting herself with nerves. Cut the girl some slack fgs she isn't the devil incarnate.

hotjuneafternoon · 05/06/2023 12:03

watched it for the first time in years and shocked at how boring the programme is.
I used to watch years back and I can't decide if it's always been this bad and my taste has improved or what?!

No, my impression is that since it became the “Phil and Holly” show it has been dumbed down a lot.

Muncha · 05/06/2023 13:15

She's trying to distance herself from Philip as fast as she can.

Summerishereagain · 05/06/2023 13:16

I read it on the radio. It was odd and like her PR people/this morning didn’t get it right.

Marcipex · 05/06/2023 13:19

It was so insincere I was cringing.

So much for’Be kind’.

It’s a total witch hunt because he’s gay.

Fuck me it was bad enough with Richard and Judy. I will never understand why people watch this shit there's so much good stuff on elsewhere.

ThreeRingCircus · 05/06/2023 13:27

Why did she keep referring to Phil as "they"?

GoodChat · 05/06/2023 13:28

It's about as real and heartfelt as Phil's 'coming out' ridiculousness.

ThreeRingCircus · 05/06/2023 13:27

Why did she keep referring to Phil as "they"?

Trying to detach herself/the show from him even more in a 'someone I used to know' way.

It's all carefully scripted PR, even down to sitting there in her 'innocent' white dress.

He’s coming out as non binary next week.

h3ll0o · 05/06/2023 13:37

Haven’t seen it but it doesn’t surprise me that she wants to distance herself from someone who potentially groomed a school boy.

So he can't say they're bullying him and slagging him off

I don’t believe for a second that she didn’t know what was going on… so her whole speech was disingenuous at best.

MimiSunshine · 05/06/2023 13:45

Of course it was rehearsed. She wasn’t going to blag it was she? What a weird criticism.

i thought she sounded very emotional and a bit nervous, you could hear the adrenaline in her voice.

whatever the wrongs are of Philips behaviour, it wasn’t Hollys fault so let’s stop trying to make her responsible for a man’s actions shall we?

wildfirewonder · 05/06/2023 13:46

My favourite bit was the big cleansing breath in the middle of it.

I agree that we do all just want to heal though.

HandBall · 05/06/2023 13:47

Ok you can't link foreign websites about public manipulation, strange as it's discussed in UK media too, as my previous post isn't allowed.

I was saying it's just what Eamonn discussed in his interview #BeKind manipulate the public

Rubbish
Theres no witch hunt, he allegedly groomed a young man

NowZeusHasLainWithLeda · 05/06/2023 13:51

She sounded emotional I expect because she's been shitting it that her closeness to him will bring her down to.

I don't think what he did was right. I think he deserved to lose his career and his family. The law is an ass, but he probably should be prosecuted for grooming.

But dear God, they need to leave him alone now instead of letting a vapid narcissist dance on his grave on live TV.

This is all starting to feel very uncomfortable and I think in years to come there'll be a massive backlash. Not on his behaviour leading up to the revelations, but how he's been publicly hounded since.
