WTF do these people stand for?

Just fuck off you utter, utter cunts.

OP posts:
Ohmych · 25/05/2023 15:10

What is the point of that?

Ohmych · 25/05/2023 15:11

Why are they protesting about a garden? It makes no sense.

crossstitchingnana · 25/05/2023 15:14

All I can assume is that they're trying to upset Boomers (assumption that older people like CFS)

Sagittariusrising · 25/05/2023 15:16

Love the woman who hosed them down 😀I can't imagine many people there having a lot of sympathy. Hope nothing like this happens tomorrow when I visit.

ThePoshUns · 25/05/2023 15:16

Just saw this. Vandals. That's someone's hard work ruined by their pathetic ' look at me' actions. Bunch of c**ts.

Trinity65 · 25/05/2023 15:18

😡

Clymene · 25/05/2023 15:22

Bunch of over privileged yobs

Summerhillsquare · 25/05/2023 15:27

You know why they are doing it, for the publicity. If you don't support them, don't share their actions 🤷

There is an article in the Spectator about ‘econians ’ - privileged people taking part in Just Stop Oil and ER etc. I’m sure some of them are over privileged but not all of them surely?
I wonder if it’s a plan by the government to turn the public even more against these protesters: posh = bad, therefore if posh people are protesting then the cause and protests must be bad.

sashagabadon · 25/05/2023 15:56

Their posh middle class parents were probably there the day before.

sashagabadon · 25/05/2023 15:57

It’s not a plan by the government. They are all posh and middle class

WilkinsonM · 25/05/2023 15:58

what arseholes

The woman talking seemed very middle aged and posh to me!

Genzken · 25/05/2023 15:59

Publicity - of which they are getting a lot of to be fair.

Oh, I hadn't seen that! That makes a weird quote from the JSO people make a bit more sense. Something about gasps of dismay then became people clapping in support or something. Seemed unlikely, but now I suspect they were supporting the hose weilder!

Bluevelvetsofa · 25/05/2023 16:04

I heard that they were saying that there is no point in having a garden that doesn’t provide food. The garden they vandalised was a sustainable garden and many of the gardens will be dismantled and rebuilt elsewhere. I also think that a garden can provide balm to the soul and its a pleasure to see beautiful flowers.

Growing fruit and vegetables is important, of course, but not everyone is able to do that.

I see little point in doing something that antagonises the people that you presumably want to get on side.

EdithWeston · 25/05/2023 16:05

The vandalism was throwing orange powder (poster paint) on the garden, which may have permanently stained the stone. But no apparent damage beyond that.

(But I shudder to think what the environmental impact of CFS is - all that construction, people travelling miles - bringing all the things that build the gardens as well as all the workers, volunteers and spectators, lots of out-of season plants, mature trees literally uprooted to be sited there briefly etc)

Apparently land should be for growing veg not flowers. Obviously clueless about bees, diversity and pollination. Fuckwits

HeartOrHeadDecision · 25/05/2023 16:15

I'm so sad about Trevi fountain in Italy too. Just why???!!!

I’m genuinely convinced that they are actually a ploy to turn people against the cause of environmentalism, not because of being posh but because they are clearly morons who hurt the cause with every stupid stunt action they take!

I agree but there was a thread on here a couple of days ago about the trans lobby’s pee protest being done by posh and entitled people.
The general view seemed to be that posh people protesting makes a bad cause worse.

Irequireausername · 25/05/2023 16:43

When people try to claim that there isn't a class problem in the UK anymore, they should take a look at things like just stop oil 😂

But ecology needs more. Flowers benefit bees and even some birds. They are not very bright are they?

What happened to the Trevi Fountain?

thebabessavedme · 25/05/2023 16:56

Idiots, what a demographic to piss off, all those passionate gardeners who are ecologically minded, not using peat, growing organically sustainable gardens, looking to create environments for insects, wildlife etc, looking at ways of growing gardens that are water friendly etc. The garden in question was due to moved for use elsewhere. pillocks
