Marmite or jam, no butter. I can't abide melted butter, so won't put it on anything that will result in a "butter puddle". <shudder>

Jam. Maybe jam and cream if you're craving a scone!

Cheese and onion (in the premixed tubs) with a shit tonne of lurpack butter was my late mum's favourite. I can't eat it any more since she passed away last year, can't smell Angel perfume without bloody crying either 😞

It’s v nice. Also good in yoghurt, on toast, or blended into iced coffee. And cos it’s a creepy green colour you can dissuade the kids from eating it for a while (till they figure out it tastes like a delicious white chocolate pistachio Nutella…)

I have a strange aversion to sweet stuff on savoury things like crumpets

Eggy crumpets are nice. You could also use crumpet soldiers instead of toast in a soft boiled egg.

Dh puts beans and cheese on them.

I personally like just butter and lots of it, my son likes cream cheese (and butter) on his and my husband like butter and plastic/burger cheese on his, random i know.
