Butter and marmite. Or butter. The important thing is lots of butter and then some more to be safe.

I can't be doing with sweet toppings on crumpets. I just need a well done crumpet with half a packet of butter on it 🤣.

I don't get adding both butter and jam together. To me that's like adding butter then peanut butter.... just weird!

I have only ever put butter and jam on a crumpet. I buy them every now and then in the hope that I will suddenly like them, but I hate them. Maybe the butter and jam is where I'm going wrong and I should try cheese or egg or whatever.

Right, sticking them on my shopping list in a last ditch attempt to like the bastards.

DD had a baked Camembert in a pub/restaurant place yesterday and it came with a crumpet for dipping

Not sure if its been mentioned, but crumpets are perfect as soldiers for runny boiled eggs, the yolk gets in all the holes 👌

English crumpet (served warm) - butter only
Scottish crumpet (with raisins, served cold) - butter and jam

Butter mixed with sugar and ground cinnamon.

The Ivy used to do this glorious mustardy, Marmitey butter with their crumpets. It was bloody lovely. They changed the menu a couple of years ago and stopped doing it though. I enquired but apparently no one bought it so it came off the menu.

Otherwise, I am a fan of the PB&J crumpet: butter, peanut butter, than a little bit of marmalade, jam or honey.

Pretty much anything you'd put on toast - in our house it could be butter, peanut butter, jam, cheese (which my H thinks is weird), honey or chocolate spread.

Fried Egg!

The other day I thought my Husband had put a slice of Cheese on his Crumpet. Turned out it was a slice of Butter.

Ton of salted butter and honey

No matter what lots of butter!

then jam or marmalade or honey or marmite or sometimes a mix of beaten egg and shredded cheese then grilled

Cheese and mustard with ham.

Jam or honey sounds good.
