DH just put jam on a crumpet...

In your opinion, what does belong on a crumpet?

I don't understand this. Jam doesn't melt into the holes like marmite does. It just sits there. My son doesn't like marmite so he has Nutella, which I kind of get.

I think you’d all leave me!
I enjoy a well toasted just on its own. At a pinch mature cheddar. Strangely I like butter on other things.

Totally correct and I'm amazed it took so long for someone to put this. A drippy yolk running through already buttered crumpet holes is divine.

There should always be enough butter so it’s melted right through in a puddle on the plate.
