DH just put jam on a crumpet...

I tried jam on crumpet recently and I’m converted.

Usually it’s butter, marmite and cheese.

Butter, thats what the holes are for, little devices for getting as much melted butter into a person in one go. Then jam or honey on top of the butter.

Firstly I toasted said crumpets (which in my neck of the woods is actually a pyclet)

Then I heavily buttered the pyclets/crumpets

Then I added mature cheddar, sliced

Then they were grilled

I added both capers, and chopped jalapeños (curved ball right there)

They were fucking delicious and I regret nothing. Perhaps except my marriage to such a heathen.

Those of you eating it with honey or anything vaguely sweet can get out, right now.

STBXH (i like him really) has tried to reason with me by suggesting that his disgusting choices might in fact be down to him being a southerner. I dont think that's valid excuse.

Butter. It has to go down the holes and ooze from the underside. Then jam, marmalade, marmite, peanut butter and jam or cheese. I want crumpets now.
