Doesn’t really go with the suit though.

How many legs has she actually got?

’L is for leg
L is for leg’

would have been more accurate, no?

I was already amused by this thread but this 😂post has actually made me guffaw and have one of those breathless laughs where it builds up.

Romeiswheretheheartis · 19/08/2022 14:18

He could have used one of the L's for 'lips' - missed a trick there Ryan 😂

I'm crying laughing at this thread.

Or indeed love, but it's apparent that there is only one person Giggs loves.

ShirleyJackson · 19/08/2022 14:26

Labia?
Liver?
Lymph node?

Romeiswheretheheartis · 19/08/2022 14:28

Lungs?

He had 8 other women on the go, did he woo them with his poetry too?

I can only imagine Bono is delighted that there is someone more cringe at poetry than he is.

Kate you've got more legs than a spider
Read my poem and open them wider

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/08/2022 14:49

It's positively Shakespearean! Puts me in mind of Pryramus and Thisby in A Midsummer Night's Dream - with added filth.

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/08/2022 14:50

Pyramus

ShirleyJackson · 19/08/2022 14:50

Puts me in mind of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, too.

In that Giggsy is a massive asshat.

Just reading the r'final letter'' listing all the names of who he was having affairs with - its like listening to that song Mambo No. 5!

I hope there are other poems, he can't have written just the one.

You rightly discern the hand of an experienced poet.

BuenoSucia · 19/08/2022 15:17

What’s the Stafford? Bar? Hotel? Gym? Do you just take a number like at the deli counter and wait for your turn?

Not to mention all the ones who he free kicked into the bin because they didn’t make the grade. Lost to us for ever……….

I do wonder if it’s a distraction technique from his barrister because the charges are serious and this stuff makes him seem so silly it’s harder to see him as a threat.

Whilst this thread is hilarious (some very witty MN'ers here) I came to post specifically how it's detracted from the actual assault he is on trial for.

I am seeing lots of "don't give up your day job" / "it makes me cringe" etc and not so much of "this man is on trial for a serious crime"

Releasing all these poems etc is 100% tactical by his legal team.... and more worryingly it seems to be working.

Crunchymum · 19/08/2022 16:08

Caveat to say I know we cannot discuss certain aspects but there is a lot more in the public domain (that can be discussed) aside from these poems.

CPL593H · 19/08/2022 16:15

In seriousness, I'm not sure why some of this stuff was allowed to be introduced as I can't see the relevance to the (serious) assault charges, although I'm probably missing something. Any tactics to minimise should utterly fail as she is not on trial for assaulting him.

Romeiswheretheheartis · 19/08/2022 16:23

They'll be putting all this poem stuff out there to try to argue that the relationship wasn't as controlling and violent as she's alleging - 'Look, they were sending each other all these love poems, this doesn't tally with her current version of events....' 🤔🤔

Yep, the old Johnny Depp defence. Distract the jury and public with laughs and headlines and they won't see what a sinister, abusive piece of shit I am.

DeedIDo · 19/08/2022 16:55

However, once this shitshow is over, all most people will remember will be the poems. The legal niceties will be forgotten and it will either be he got potted despite the poems or he got acquitted, despite the poems.
