What’s an instant turn off for you in a man/woman?

Halitosis and an admiration for the Tories.

Wayfairtwo · 05/05/2022 16:00

smoking

wtfisgoingonhere21 · 05/05/2022 16:00

Tight with money

Rude to waiters/waitresses

Talking about self all the time

Hygiene

Have a df who's husband is all of the above and I've actually disengaged from them quite a bit.

He gives me the Ick

PetersRabbitt · 05/05/2022 16:01

Teeth, long hair or beards are a big turn off.

Libertynan · 05/05/2022 16:02

You don't often meet people with a penchant for the gummy.

😂

You know I was thinking about this the other day. The main one for me (though there are loads) are classically "good looking" men who you can just tell love themselves. I don't mean all good looking men per se but the type I mean are: Usually dressed in tight t-shirt and tight black sweatpants or gym leggings (HATE tight trousers on men)
Look like they spend half their life in the gym (checking themselves out in the mirrors) but only workout their top half giving them a turnip-shaped look - skinny legs ahoy!
Styled/long on top short back and sides type hair that looks like they've used a whole tin of Ellnette to coif.
They look at you to see if you're looking at them and are obviously just so confident that EVERY WOMAN is salivating over them.
Probably only go out with botoxed, fake-bummed 20-something insta-bunnies and think any woman other than that is a minger.

So, yeah, men who love themselves is my biggest turnoff - I'd rather go out with an ugly man than someone who spends more time in front of the mirror than I do.

Oh yeah. Can't stand a man with teeth! Grin

ImNotBeingFunnyBut123 · 05/05/2022 16:13

Tightarse

VintageGibbon · 05/05/2022 16:14

Beards are an instant turn off for me. Give me the creeps.

Being a Tory. Rudeness to waiters/service staff. Being overly impressed or obsessed by material wealth. Mate, I seriously don't care what car you drive. I do care whether you are fun to chat with.

Bunty55 · 05/05/2022 16:14

Oh no... Not the 'teeth' :)

hellcatspanglelalala · 05/05/2022 16:14

Smoking - would never date a smoker
Anyone pro Tory/brexit/questionable morals/racist
Gym bunnies who spend hours preening themselves
No body hair (as in, I like a hairy chest/legs on a man)
Jobless

MardyOldGoth · 05/05/2022 16:20

Arrogance, chauvinism, voting Tory, shit facial hair that looks like it's been done with a stencil, Peaky Blinders haircuts (enough already!), poor hygiene.

EvenStrangerThings03 · 05/05/2022 16:20

Can’t drive (I live in a rural area)
Spends hours in the gym - but I’m fat so they probably wouldn’t want me either 😂
Bad hygiene

Imissmoominmama · 05/05/2022 16:20

Men who make inappropriate jokes (racist, sexist- Daily Mail reader types).

Men who overwork their bodies in the gym.

Men who wear a lot of designer stuff and drive flash cars. Up to them, but it doesn’t do it for me.

MardyOldGoth · 05/05/2022 16:22

Oh, and bloody mama's boys! Met far too many of those.

Imissmoominmama · 05/05/2022 16:24

DS1 has epilepsy and has never been able to drive, but is warm, funny, creative, intelligent and successful in his chosen field.

It saddens me that someone would discount him because of something he has no control over. Luckily, he lives in a city where the public transport is brilliant, and has a wonderful partner.

SillySallySassySausage · 05/05/2022 16:26

Tool long/yellow/dirty nails.
Smoking.
Laddish "banter" ... I hate the word banter, it's just a get out of jail free card for acting like a prick.

pumpkinpie01 · 05/05/2022 16:26

Grumpiness , tight with money , bad table manners

ShitHair · 05/05/2022 16:26

Men with long nails

Bridesmother · 05/05/2022 16:26

Bad breath, dirty finger nails, neglected feet, tattoos, jogging bottoms, holding cutlery incorrectly, smokers, beards, dirty hair, snotty kids, eating in the street, eating with moth open and noisily, - yes, I am bunch of fun!
