New footage of Jada Pinket Smith laughing

Sorry know this has been done to death and probably people losing interest but-

Anybody see the mobile phone footage of slapgate filmed from behind the Smiths that was broadcast on morning TV today?

I'm convinced it was an act now, she didn't bat an eye and just laughed. I wondered why there hadn't been a video of her reaction before now.

I never thought it was anything other than an act.

I couldn't possibly care less about any of this. Can the world move on now and give attention to issues that actually matter?

grey12 · 01/04/2022 11:10

Laughing doesn't mean you still don't get offended by the joke 🤷🏻‍♀️ it was of bad taste (doesn't at all justify Will Smith's response)

LetsGoCrazyPurpleBanana · 01/04/2022 11:13

Helltothenope Why not ignore the post then?

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 01/04/2022 11:19

It was all an act.

WS was laughing along with him and almost missed his cue, CR leaned in for the slap, WS walked away laughing, security were nowhere to be seen, it was a slap where a punch would’ve been more productive, CR stated that it was the greatest night in television which (a) it wasn’t, and (b) sounded like something he was trying to get hashtagged.

Chris Rock did well from it. I’d never heard of him until this.

LetHimHaveIt · 01/04/2022 11:21

🙄

Chris Rock was already well known. Kind of the reason he was hosting the show.

exactly - I've never heard of this person who was deemed famous enough to present the Oscars

I'm seeing a massive backlash against Jada over the last couple of days.
There are a lot of posts shared on my social media from young lads and men about poor Will Smith whose career and reputation has now been irreparably damaged by a manipulative woman.
Comments about toxic femininity.
All seems very much like propaganda by incel types.

Cutemob · 01/04/2022 11:33

@TheLightSideOfTheMoon
Yes to everything you've said, plus the footage covered in the media has been so heavily edited to only show a couple of angles on the incident. There seems to have been a camera right up in WS face to his left, and there must have been cameras everywhere really, so why only show the 2 angles, and nothing of Jada and her reaction until now? If it were real I think she would have walked out or been incensed at least, not casually laugh.
Just think it's a very strange thing to fake, and can't really figure the reason to do it. Maybe none of them thought it would turn out to be actually believable that viewers are 50/50 on it. Makes the Academy Awards look a bit cheap and tacky so I'm not sure it would have been the best way to up their profile.

@HellToTheNope
That's great, do you maybe want to scroll on and comment on a thread that interests you then?

A,person's fame isn't measured by whether or not you've heard of them (fortunately). Chris Rock is extremely well known!

midsomermurderess · 01/04/2022 11:33

I stand with Daniel Radcliffe on this.

There are many threads on MN about more 'worthy' issues. In the past 24 hours, you have posted on exactly none of them. Would you like some help on how to find these threads, if you're struggling?

I stand with Daniel Radcliffe on this.
What does that mean?
Gilly12345 · 01/04/2022 11:38

Chris Rock has a smart mouth and is entirely to blame for this in the first place with his inappropriate ‘joke’.

Will Smith didn’t engage brain and now has a massive problem to sort.

RJnomore1 · 01/04/2022 11:40

The poor woman can’t do anything right can she?

Two men act like arseholes and yet again somehow it’s a woman at fault for not being compliant enough or looking after her hair correctly or breathing or something.

Ffs.

EthelTheAardvark · 01/04/2022 11:42

No, it very clearly was not an act.

Mummyoflittledragon · 01/04/2022 11:46

I don’t think it was an act either. She may have laughed because she initially thought WS ‘actor slapped’ CR, which doesn’t really hurt. Or it could have been out of shock / embarrassment.

Meirou90 · 01/04/2022 11:46

Would Will Smith really tarnish his entire career for an act? What would be his motivation in doing so - certainly not money as he had enough of it.

Indeed. Some comments on the cesspit that is Twitter are fucking revolting.
FarFarFarAndAway · 01/04/2022 11:53

I don't believe for one second this was an act. What possible motivation could either of them have for doing this?

Yep, this sums it up. Tale as old as time.
Femalewoman · 01/04/2022 11:55

The only one responsible for WS behaviour is WS. He needs anger management.
