What sort of people do you envy?

Because I’ve just realised I really envy people who don’t feel the cold! (Recalling a day this week when I stood shivering in a train station, wrapped in about seven layers, chatting to a glamorous acquaintance who was perfectly at ease in a long sleeved dress.)

Excluded qualities:

Family & relationships. Children. Wealth. Good looks. Because otherwise the thread would be pointless.

(Do I really need to add lighthearted to the title? Hmm )

People who don’t seem to worry about anything. As I get older the more I worry about silly things.

ClariceQuiff · 13/03/2022 10:18

Anyone who can eat what they want without gaining weight.

DH - I am looking at you and the shortbread biscuit in your hand.

LaraDeSalle · 13/03/2022 10:19

People that can easily unscrew/undo things such as bottles and lids.

KylieCharlene · 13/03/2022 10:19

I envy laid-back people.
I'm very controlling, organised and I like things doing in good time. Due to this I always have something I need to do and I can never relax. I'm extremely highly-strung too.

Comedycook · 13/03/2022 10:20

I envy people who are doers rather than thinkers. They seem to achieve a lot more than I do. I'm very analytical but get sod all done

Iamblossom · 13/03/2022 10:21

People to whom anything to do with numbers comes easily.

I could have written this. I’d love to just do things at a leisurely pace and not stress about every single detail.

Me too! Especially people who are chilled out with their kids and don't get stressed about them running miles ahead or not being visible in soft play lol
jollyhollyday · 13/03/2022 10:23

People who can confidently talk in front of groups of people (work based I'm thinking) I just clam up I mean literally my throat tightens :-(

isthatanotherbastardgrey · 13/03/2022 10:23

People who don't have pregnancy piles, so can therefore enjoy the sheer luxury of being able to bloody sit down!

longestlurkerever · 13/03/2022 10:23

People with poise! People who can enter a meeting room without catching their sleeve on the door handle/spilling their coffee/laddering their tights/losing their pass/realising their pen doesn't work and having to write their notes in eyeliner.

On the other hand I don't feel the cold easily so feel I'm winning at life now, thanks OP! Grin

MaryAndHerNet · 13/03/2022 10:23

I envy people with partners that enjoy housework.... My reasons are my own...

🤪

PinkyU · 13/03/2022 10:23

People who love the outdoors, who go camping, for country walks and hiking, skiing and all things outdoor pursuit related.

It’s cold, wet, dirty, smelly and I’m so clumsy that I’d almost certainly die yet I feel envy when I see pictures of families paddling in streams and picnicking on the side of a hill.

Mushrooms0up · 13/03/2022 10:24

People who are good at mental arithmetic
People who tan (I just go blotchy)
People with small boobs who can effortlessly throw on an oversized t shirt and look great
Anyone who can park (I really really struggle with parking)

This!

Plus people who have an easy facility with the spoken and written word.

thingsarelookingup · 13/03/2022 10:25

Don't envy doers! I'm a doer and lock down broke me because I mostly think about things I'd like to do so my brain just went in endless loops of coming up with great ideas and then disappointedly shelving them. And no, it never learnt to stop.

TottersBlankly · 13/03/2022 10:43

This is all excellent.

I'm very analytical but get sod all done Look! I have a long lost twin …

longestlurkerever - you have no idea how fortunate you are.

Those with husbands who are enthusiastic about going out and about and actually book things.
And those who have a bigger house.

RJnomore1 · 13/03/2022 10:44

Organised people!

LaWench · 13/03/2022 10:45

People who can eat or drink without spilling it down your top. I'm so clumsy.

SeanMean · 13/03/2022 10:47

People who enjoy exercise and people who tan easily!

Pyewhacket · 13/03/2022 10:47

Nobody. I have enough of everything I need . I guess I'm lucky.

wouldHAVEshouldHAVEcouldHAVE · 13/03/2022 10:49

People who can dance unselfconsciously at a party without being drunk.

DimebagDarrell · 13/03/2022 10:50

People at work who just seem to have a sixth sense about how to get on in the workplace. They somehow talk to the right people, get involved in the right projects and think of the right questions to ask in meetings etc. Meanwhile I just paid on getting my work done to a decent standard.
